The fish appear to enjoy eating the food and a couple of them have grown alot since switching to this brand. It sinks slowly giving the fish plenty of time to eat it, however I find alot of it floats into the sump, so have to fed in lots of small amounts to ensure the fish break the water surface and cause the pellets to sink.

Came damaged
Really disappointed the tub came with a large hole in the side near the bottom which resulted in me losing most of the food, I have now had to go out and buy more fish food and have to return the damaged tub and wait 7+ days for a refund leaving me out of pocket, Ended up never refunding me any money or no replacement

WHY HAVE I WAITED SO LONG TO GET THIS FISH FOOD?! This stuff is gold. I used to have to be so strategic when feeding my fish floating food because my 8 year old Jack Dempseys would eat everything in one huge gulp before the smaller fish even had a chance to get a piece. With this food, it immediately falls, so now, my smaller cichlids get an entire meal, every time! Also, the food in general is almost completely mess free. I've never had fish food that is this clean! Theres no need to chew the food since the pellets are small so they just swallow them whole. I thought that they may be too small for my Jack Demspseys but boy was i wrong. They LOVE this stuff and the like to scavenge and suck it up from the tank floor. I have sand on the bottom which is nice with this food. I also read up on floating food and they say its bad for the fish to ingest so much air, so this solves that problem. Not only do I love it, but my fish my love it! Even my pleco eats this stuff when it falls to the bottom! Stop feeding your fish the other brands, this one is the one. You and your cichlids will be happy you did!

I've used Spectrum for years now, and have always had great results. My fish are colorful and active. Cichlids are difficult because there are different varieties that eat different things in nature. This food is good for all cichlids. Not too much meat proteins for the vegetarian fish (like Protomelas species). I used to get bloat occasionally from feeding too much meat proteins to my vegetarian fish. I have not had a single case of bloat with Spectrum. Foods like North Fin are great for carnivorous species, but not for Protomelas (Ex. Red Empress, Tangerine Tiger, Taiwan Reef, etc).

My cichlids love this stuff. Not one pellet makes it to the substrate, the little devils eat them before that.

Pros 1 - .5 mm size is just right for all smaller sized fish. 2 - High quality food 3 - Does not fall apart in the water 4 - Fish LOVE the food Cons NONE Overall - I have fish of various varieties and sizes and they all do very well on New Life Spectrum foods. The pellets do not fall apart in the water and the fish devour them. I feed both .5 mm and 2 mm pellets along with some New Life Spectrum flake food as well. This way all my fish, small and large at swimming at all levels of the tank are well fed. I've had so much success with the New Life Spectrum foods that they are the only dried fish foods I use, Highly Recommended!
