Genuine quality product

While this is quite a large purchase (how much line do you actually need), it was the only size I could find of this great line. The length of line supplied will probably last you a lifetime but you will be glad you bought it as it is the strongest, best cutting line I have ever had. Squared off (rather than round as most cords are), it really helps the cutting on any strimmer and while it is quite hard to load on the reel (due to the memory effect and sheer width of the line), it's worth persevering for it's durability. A lot of line but great value for money especially if you can share it with a friend!

Difficult to cut but seems no more tough when used in my stihl petrol strimmer

I am using this line on a Honda petrol strimmer and compared to the round line from B&Q that I have been using for years, it is brilliant. It is tougher and therefore lasts longer and has much, much better cutting capabilities. I have a country garden with lots of wild areas to keep under control and this line is ideal, but it might be a tad too aggressive in a more suburban garden - it will quite readily take chunks out of tree shelters or shrubs if you're not careful. The only really minor issue I have is that the Stihl line does't feed too well, but it is quite manageable and it is better that the line feeding automatically on rough ground when you don't want it too. This spool will last me for years!

It's fine for contractors doing rough cutting in large areas and cost effective compared to other line variations however if you require a quiet smooth running line this is not for you. The line is hard wearing as you might expect from STIHL however it struggles to spin smoothly on detailed work and causes considerable vibrations in the shaft and handle due to the aerodynamics of the square shape. It's noisy due to the hum it creates when spinning and behaves erratically. Can't argue with the cost saving though.
