My only knife these days....
This is a great knife to explore use of ceramic knives. It's much lower in price than many other ceramics, so I thought I'd give it a whirl to see if I liked ceramic knives, and could avoid breaking them. I LOVE the knife! It's my go-to knife now, having displaced a number of Henckels, Shun, and other excellent steel knives. This is so much sharper than any of my steel knives ever were, and has propelled my cooking to the next level - being able to handle the prep work more easily and with greater precision has made a noticeable improvement in the results. Durability: I've knocked this about more than I care to admit, expecting several times it was a goner. Pleasantly surprised. I have NOT dropped it on the tile yet. Don't expect that will work out as well, but so far a lot less delicate than I imagined. Cut myself: yes. Sucker is SHARP. Color: I thought about a similar knife in black blade & handle but decided on red/white to instantly recognize it as the ceramic. Glad I did. Conclusion: would get this again in a heartbeat. I believe that other ceramics may be even nicer than this, and will likely get others now that I've tested the water, but this is an excellent value and an excellent knife at the price. I'd get it again. UPDATE: I *have* dropped in on the tile floor. Still working great... Ken - Author of " The Pellet Stove Almanack: Home Heating Joins the 21st Century "

Awesome Knife
I recently ordered this knife from Amazon because Kyocera was out of stock. For Amazon... the price was right, and the shipping was very fast! For Kyocera... this knife is amazing. It is razor sharp, super easy to use, comfortable, and light. It has been more than impressive cutting through everything I have set before it. Also, it comes with a free lifetime resharpening, which 99% of users will never need. I'm telling you... this knife is sharp, and stays that way.

Terrible quality
This is the second one we buy... it breaks really easily. We are very disappointed. The last day to return was yesterday; it broke today. Shame for the price!

Amazing knives, the last one you'll need!
I've had a kyocera ceramic knife for over 3 years now and can without a doubt say its the favorite one I've ever owned. The knife has yet to need sharpening and cuts through meat, vegetables, or even paper better than most any other knife I've worked with. The only downside to the knife is needing to hand wash, but thats simply the nature of it being ceramic which is well worth the effort for such a great utensil.

Incredible knife
We were told at a local kitchen store that these knives were amazing. We wondered how this could be, esp. since we use very high end knives and are very pleased with them. So we scoffed. But we bought one. And wow!!! These knives are so sharp that you have to be very careful with them so you don't cut yourself. They slice fruit and veggies paper thin ... and best of all, no need to get out that sharpening steel. Turns out being so elitist about knives did not work in our favor ... we then went out and bought a larger Kyocera knife plus one of its potato peelers, which beats all other peelers, hands down. Highly recommend.

Excellent knives, but need to be gentle
I love these knives, they are incredibly sharp and cut really well, the only drawback is that they are fragile and you need to be careful with them as they can chip easily. If you just use them to cut and chop normally they will be great, just don't try to cut into anything hard such as winter squash, etc.

Scary sharp knife.
My first cutting task with this knife was slicing a sweet potato. I thought, "No big deal." This felt the same as one of my steel serrated knives, which is geting slightly dull. Then I sliced a carrot and I was amazed. I just slid the knife through the carrot, with very little effort. The slices were so thin they were clinging to the side of the blade. Next up was raw chicken breasts. With just a little pressure, the Kyocera ceramic knife made some really deep cuts in the chicken. This is when I realized I would always have to be alert when using this knife. I have heard it said that the most dangerous knife is a dull knife. The logic behind this is that you need to use more force with a dull knife and there is a greater possibility of the knife slipping and going somewhere unexpected (like into your hand or your leg). If this is true, then this is a really safe knife. This ceramic knife has good balance, is really light and has a very comfortable handle. It will never rust. If your cutting needs include twisting, prying and chopping, then a ceramic knife is a bad choice. It is very strong for slicing, but any sideways torgue applied to the blade my cause it to chip or break. You definitely don't want to drop this knife because it will most likely be damaged. I bought the Kyocera paring knife and it is just as outstanding as this larger Santoku knife.

Chipped cutting edge
My wife loves this particular Ceramic knife. She has used it for many years and it served her well. But the one that purchased has a chipped cutting edge after using for only 1 month. Purchasing another just to see if it was just an unlucky event...

C'est exactement ce que je recherchais, ce couteau est parfait il est quand même dommage que l'étui soit vendu séparément.

Definitivamente é uma faca "TIPO" kyocera... a lâmina vai perder o corte rapidamente. Não vale o preço cobrado.

Sharper than any store bought knife I've ever owned, more so than my Global collection. I've never owned a ceramic knife before so I'm not sure how long it will hold its edge but a month in and it's about as sharp as the day I purchased it. It's lighter than I would have liked but that's just me. I would still highly recommend it.

Versatilissimo, ben fatto. Bisogna prestare attenzione alla punta, che potrebbe scheggiarsi o spezzarsi. Credo sia normale dato che non è in acciaio.
