Little Black Classics Box Set: Collectible box 80 Penguin Classics | Timeless Short Stories and Essays from Literary Greats

I started looking for one book and bought the whole box set instead. And I have to say that I am just delighted at the mere sight of this wonderful collection of 80 different types of works of 80 well-known authors. I was a little skeptical because the reviews on Amazon.com, but i must that, my experience has been entirely different. 1. I received properly packed, not-at-all torn from any side box set. 2. The quality of books is great. The size, as apparent from the dimension of independent books, is a little smaller, as justified by the name 'little black classic', than that of the usual Penguin Classics. 3. All books are for keeps. This is one of my best purchases ever. Even though some titles may not interest me right now, I am still looking forward to exploring each one of them, as rest assured, these are all acclaimed works and loved by a variety of people across the world. So, I've attached a few screenshots that give you an idea about 1. How it looks 2. What are the contents 3. The size as compared to a normal Penguin Classic (E.g. Three Men in a Boat. It goes without saying that this book is not a part of the box set and is only used for comparison)

It's worth your money

One of my favourite things that I own. It is helpful to improve reading habit. The range of authors is amazing.

Great collection. Has 80 books. I have no issues with the number of books of and no book was repeated. However, it could have had been aesthetically more pleasing if all the Penguins were aligned. Also, there is some packing damage like the corners of the larger box for folded and some books also got little damaged near the spine. For that alone, I am giving it 4 stars. For all other reasons, it is a great buy.

Well.. My cup is full and overflowing with love for the collection that stands pretty on my case. I must express my gratitude for the penguins for this fantastic crazy and yet a colorful idea of presenting a microcosm of world literature. Its an awesome collection for any book lover especially a dedicated life long student of literature. The packaging was great and it arrived a day early- amazon signature. I loved the care and love for the books that went into packing and delivering this treasure. The mere sight of this collection induces poetry and reminds me of the worthy pursuits in life. If you are looking to buy- wise thing to do! Go for it and enjoy the pleasure of reading and owning one of the envy inducing collection. Thank you Amazon.

You have described this as a BOXSET. Where is the box? I have just been handed a BUNDLE of books. Feel terribly cheated for the 3.8 K I have paid.

Beautiful set. Authors and content are very, very well chosen. You get a variety and might find out your soul genre. There are poems, novellas, travelogues, biographies, autobiographies, true accounts, short stories, plays, haikus, tales. Unlike others I got all 80 books and non of them were missing and none of them were repeated. Got a late delivery though and the box could have been better. Got a torn born. But books were fine. I bought it at Rs. 2300. Happy with it.
