Varnished wood
This may suite for your purpse, my purpose was hanging a belkin power plug on wood, it is not sticking proporly as I did varnish on tables. So please re thinkyour requirment and choose.

Strips not a good option for walls.
This product is a waste of money. It does not stick properly on the wall and in step 4 the sticker it self comes off. Tried couple of times and same issue. Please do not consider it for walls.
