Very effective, but fragile
The first time this was delivered, the lightbulbs broke during transit. Thankfully amazon sent me a replacement really quickly. It's a wonderful light, though the stand is kind of flimsy. My psychiatrist recommended I get this particular one because it allows me to angle the light so that it's shining down on me from above. That makes it a lot more comfortable than having it beam straight into my face and eyes. Psych also said the best time to use it was in the morning before work, and I can say I feel amazing. I have more energy, more focus, and a great mood. Be very careful with it, and it will serve you well!

Wobbly stand
I have several different varieties of the northern lights, and I absolutely love them for the therapeutic effect. However, this particular one has post issues as the stand is very wobbly and has a very wide base. I would recommend their other styles over this one.

Nice light.
I am rating only the light, not the theory behind it. This is a well built light. It came double boxed. Packing was excellent. Solid, strong, bright. Has two stands. One allows it to stand on end at a fixed angle. The other stands it on its side and allows it to rotate up or down. Do be sure to read the dimensions as this is a large light and might be cumbersome for travelling. Unlike some other makers of therapy lights, this one gives you the model numbers for replacement tubes by two different manufacturers, both of which are familiar names. Northern Lights sells replacements too but options are nice, esp. if it means you can get them locally. Does it work according to the theory? You have to try it for yourself. So far not for me.

Very poor quality, would not not work, could not repair
After assembly lights would not come on. Instructions said to remove diffuser screen by removing 4 plastic screws to check that lights were firmly in. However all 4 screws were stripped and would not remove (video). The base of the feet is certain to scratch any scratchable surface you place the light on. 3 of the 4 legs had a small insert to prevent scratching, but the 4th leg was missing the insert, which was not in the box. The insert on another leg was so loose it kept falling out. There was an unidentified rectangular metal piece in the box for which there was not identification or instruction. The stand is awkward and with the light in the highest position the knob used to tighten it in place is a little hard to grasp and turn since it becomes slightly recessed in the metal loop pictured. It is a very expensive option, definitely not competitive compared to lesser priced light options. Returned.

If you're indecisive get this version.
This is mostly great, I've found it much more effective than the smaller (and much lower priced) units on the market. Wish I had upgraded to this long ago. A few things to know though: This is literally just the upright Boxelight you see for sale under a different product name, but with two additional legs packed into the outside cardboard box it's delivered in. So if you are torn about which one to get, GET THIS ONE. You can always stop using the legs and just flip it on the shorter side and voila, regular Boxelight. (Pretty sure they are priced similarly.) Why the legs? I was excited to try this angled down at my eyes as I heard that is most effective. I've been using it for a few weeks now and it is indeed very effective, but no matter how well I think I've twisted the bolts to secure the legs, this thing is constantly making noise as if it were "settling" and not standing entirely stable. Just random little cracks and pops as I type on the table on my laptop. It's driving me mildly crazy but I guess I can either deal or try removing the legs and standing it on its side as I suggested above. You also can go on the manufacturer website and buy an upright stand to hold this several feet off the ground, but I believe it was in the $100 range just for the stand. (?!?!) So this is a good starter option.

Good product, but amazon shipping could be better
Great product. My son has had one for years, and now I have one. I like it. The box from the manufacturer says "fragile" clearly. Shipping from amazon had it in a larger box with no mention of fragile on the outside. When it was dropped off I heard quite a large thump on the stoop. It was hard enough to snap a small plastic screw. Not a big deal, but it could have been worse. You would think amazon would handle these things more professionally.

Sunshine in a Box!
As someone who struggles with seasonal affective disorder, this light therapy box has been a lifesaver. Its compact size and sleek design fit seamlessly into my daily routine. The 10,000 lux brightness effectively mimics natural sunlight, boosting my mood and energy levels during dark winter months. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a natural way to combat the winter blues.

It's okay
There wasn't enough initial information on this product and I erred in thinking once I received the product, it would explain more. Instead, I received the product with absolutely no instructions whatsoever. Questions like: How long should I use it each day? When was the best time to use it? How far away from my eyes should it be? Because it is two bars of light, is looking into one bar enough or is it only 5,000 lux. If I were to do it again, I'd get the desk model. This is too large and too bulky. It's also very expensive so make sure you have exactly what you want because you aren't going to replace it.
