Bought this for my Intel 1700 build in the UK and it’s been a great addition. Installation was quick and straightforward, and the build quality is excellent compared to the stock bracket. Most importantly, I saw an immediate improvement in CPU temperatures under load, with more consistent cooling and better contact pressure. It’s a small, affordable upgrade that genuinely complements a decent cooler. If you’re running an Intel 1700 CPU and care about thermals, this is well worth it.

A cheaper more cost effective alternative to the previous version. Does the job well!

Be warned that the screws Thermal Grizzly include are 2.48mm longer than the screws that are used on the LGA1700 ILM, this won't be an issue in most systems, but on the Dell OptiPlex system I wanted to use this frame on to see if I could drop temperatures a few degrees, it resulted in pressure being applied against the PCB and frame, resulting in it snapping the frame, this was with 'finger tight' installation, her the manual — the LT/Lite LGA1700 frame is not made of metal, it's made from a type of plastic/fiberglass. Thermal Grizzly do make an aluminium LGA1700 frame, but it's £20-25 and I'm not paying that for a contact frame. I've used the Thermalright LGA1700 contact frames before, which retail for around £10-12, they are made of aluminium and use the standard LGA1700 ILM screws. I thought I'd give the Thermal Grizzly LGA1700 LT frame a try, as I like some of their other products, however given the minimal difference in price between the Thermal Grizzly LT frame and Thermalright LGA1700 frame, just spend the extra £3-4 and get the Thermalright frame, it's made of aluminium, so will be a lot stronger, and given it uses the stock Intel LGA1700 ILM screws, this will improve compatibility for small form factor PCs and pre-built systems that may have tight clearances, you won't run the risk of the longer screws hitting the backplate and snapping the frame. LGA1700 is a few years old at this point, so I doubt Thermal Grizzly will do another revision, but if they do, they should reduce the screw length so that it's the same length as the regular Intel LGA1700 ILM screws or as all the other contact frames do, use the standard ILM screws.

Works well

I ordered this for a friend. It is well-made, but it is made of plastic. The description does not clearly state that it is made of plastic. Hence, the confusion among the buyers. The main description only mentions that it is "Lite Version".

Its Plastic just get the metal on if I hadent needed it right away would have returned it Although I am sure it is stable. There will anyway be in the back of my mind annoying me slightly. Will definitely replace when I replace thermal paste. The fact the called it lite no mention of plastic in the title the new what they ware doing
