Best outdoor knife for long term use
What can I say? Amazing knife. Well known and reputable company. Full tang blade Easy grip handle is comfortable Thick blade ( batoning, shearing branches Sharp 90* on spine to use with a ferro rod Multi position sheath for assortment of mounting style Blade length is long enough for bushcraft work, but not too long for delicate carving Carbon blade holds edge well Best blade I've owned for general purpose utility uses and not worry about breaking Price was great for complete kit I definitely recommend and would buy from Moraknife again!

Great "off-the-shelf" option!
This is a fairly sought after tool (Morakniv Garberg 4.3" (if I remember correctly) Carbon Steel Blade Synthetic Multi-Mount Sheath Black) with tons of demonstrations, reviews, critiques, et cetera on the internet so I don't need to go into the details. It's sturdy, holds an edge well, sharpens well...well I don't know that personally but the edge cleans up easily with a very fine stone and strop both with and without varying compounds, the handle is nice enough and useable in all weather...again I haven't actually used this in every kind of weather out there. It provides grip and control in the heat with sweaty palms, in the rain, in the cold (my experience includes nothing much below freezing), with the appropriate gloves on for the activities/weather. Obviously the thinner most durable gloves feel the best while using this knife if you cant use the naked hand. I did receive the genuine article and I'd gladly take another. I will be purchasing the Stainless Steel version probably with the leather sheath. That would be my single complaint, the sheath I opted for (There's nothing "wrong" with it, I just don't like it.)... easily replaceable though. As I meantioned, it's a sought after tool and that means there are plenty of leather workers/craftspeople that sell sheaths of a vasque variety and some custom as well. It's a good buy and if it's under $80.-$85. USD that's still (mid April 2021) a good deal on this "off-the-shelf" knife with a couple of sheath options. Morakniv really hasn't ever been a disappointment but this is only my 5th-6th product of theirs. The S.S. version will serve as a backup (nearly no maintenance so it's easy to just store and go) to the carbon version. It's another cool knife if nothing else. If you take care of it with caution, maintenance and propper use it can serve every purpose for which it was intended.

Excellent bushcraft blade
Excellent bushcraft blade, quite comfortable handle and very sharp Scandi blade profile.

Very good knife
There's a reason people rave about it. It's really good. There's no room for criticism in terms of price, performance, or maintenance. Unless you're out in the wild wielding a knife and fighting bears, this is the best option.

Swedish Steel, Swedish Ingenuity, Swedish Quality
This carbon steel Garberg knife was long awaited by Morakniv customers. It was first produced in stainless Sandvik steel; the carbon version took longer to set up manufacturing processes, and Morakniv wanted to get it right. At first, it's a bit hard to take these knives seriously, as they greatly resemble what you'd call a kitchen knife. However, the steel is much thicker, the blade is much sharper and the grip is simply outstanding. I have a Benchmade Bushcrafter, and while that is a great bush craft and all-around knife, I think the Garberg is better. Why? The Garberg's handle is much easier to hold, and--let's face it--after a particularly nasty field dressing job, it's much easier to clean a "rubberized" handle than one made of G10 scales. This is not a fighting knife--it is designed for the 99% of jobs that knives really do. Yes, you could even baton with it, if you're not savvy enough to bring an axe or portable saw into the deep woods. You can order it with either the Molle-attachable sheath or a leather sheath. You can also order a "dangler" that will allow you to put the Molle-compatible sheath on your belt. In my humble opinion, this is one of the very best "woods knives" on the market. If I could take only one knife to the woods, this would be it!
