GE Genteq Replacement for Capacitor 30/5 uf 370 volt 97F9833, 370V, 30/5 MFD, Dual Run, Round Capacitor

Was a perfect replacement for my Trace ac unit. Took less than. Min to swap out!

This was very easy to install (with the help of a Youtube video) and saved me over $350 from what my HVAC company wanted to charge to replace it. A very quick and easy DIY project, and it has worked with no issues.

I had the original GE run cap in my old Carrier compressor unit. It finally went bad after about 10 years. With my capacitance meter it read nothing on both legs. It was bulged out and rusty on the top. Got this new one today and measured it for reference. It measured good on both legs (5 and 30). Installed it and the outdoor unit fired right up. Don't know how long this non OEM will last but so far so good. Seems to be a good deal.

Exact replacement. Form, fit function identical to the original. Installed and operating as expected.

Swapping it out was simple, even for someone who’s not an HVAC pro. From box to fully running unit, I had cool air humming again in under two hours. Top-of-the-line indeed, and my system is running smoother than a Sunday nap. Highly recommend!

Was sent a Capcom brand capacitor when they were supposed to send a GE Genteq brand according to the description and picture currently advertising this product as of 09/07/23. Perhaps that is the new name of the company making the capacitors from the same factories? I don't know. Uses the same-looking blue and white label and letter font. The capacitor model they sent was 27L877 which is also a 2" wide 30/5 uf 370 volt capacitor which makes it compatible with the original 97F9833 2" wide 30/5 uf 370 volt capacitor. The 27L877 is just shorter than the 97f9833 capacitor but functions just the same and is 100% compatible from my online research. This 27L877 fits in the capacitor-holding bracket that used to hold the 97f9833 capacitor just the same as they are both 2" diameter capacitors. This new capacitor is working just fine too. Hope this helps other do-it-yourselfers or techs.

My AC unit quit working on me last summer. I ordered this hoping it would fix it. IT DID! I was so proud of myself. My AC started blowing again. It was easy to replace & I didn’t notice any noise level difference. Best bang for your buck!
