Pretty good
Kids love this book (ages 2, 5, and 7). It’s a fun one. I was kind of surprised on the clothing page that they had a boy running off the page naked (he chose to wear nothing at all!) and that there were some women’s underclothes that I would not want my kids to pick to wear. But my kids barely notice them and I decided it wasn’t a huge deal because of the way it is illustrated. And I will say I usually am very picky about the book content. But my kids love to pick different things from the pages and it is a fun, interactive book that way.

I Love YOU CHOOSE!
Yes! I bought this book for the little boy I nanny for and he LOVES it! We saw it at an art class and every week we had to read it at least twice, and now that he has it at home, we read it every day before nap. It's a great book to get the imagination going and a wonderful way to introduce open concept questions. We have a great time choosing where to live and what to put in the house. We find new things every time we read You Choose! He loves to say that the boy in the hot air balloon is him, I'm the girl and the cat is my cat (which he adores). This book will be in heavy rotation for months to come.

A book every child should have...
My kids borrowed this from the library at the recommendation of our librarian friend, and they loved it so much we bought a copy. It's fun for kids to interact with the book and choose from many different things...Where would you go? Then they can point to all kinds of places on a picture, from the desert to an island to a city to outer space. They can choose what kind of house to live in (my kids choose the castles!), what food to eat, what clothes to wear, what jobs they want, what activities they want to do, and more...there are so many choices! Kids love to put together a fun imaginary life and this is a great book to help them to that!

Inspirational! A lovely book that engages with kids’ growing awareness of the diversity of life on earth, the distinctiveness of each creature, and the collective contribution we make to the balance of life and nature. Delightful illustrations follow Loulou’s longing first to become an animal, and then to capture her realisation that she’s already part of the animal family - and that human animals are responsible for protecting and supporting the planet we share with the rest of the animal kingdom. The ‘change’ human animals need to make is to respect our shared earth and all the lives that depend on it. It’s only a little book, but it has loads of potential to stimulate surprising and enlightening discussions, even with very with young readers. . My grandsons loved the idea of inhabiting the skin of other animals, and the story offers great opportunities for interaction and role playing. Using the activity pages at the back of the book, we explored the animals they wanted to be and why, where they lived and who looked after them – leading to some pretty lurid speculation about creatures who are farmed or hunted by human animals! They wanted to know who would look after animals left homeless by the destruction of seas and forests, and told me what they’ve learnt about climate change in school, and especially our personal and collective responsibilities to protect and preserve the resources we all depend on. An unexpectedly rewarding book, and good fun, too.

I purchased this for my three-year-old to help generate some imaginative conversations, and was not disappointed! She loves to look at and talk about the various pictures, and to express her preferences and ask about the preferences of others. Also, I suspect this book will be interesting for a long time to come, as many of the pictures are things she will understand better as she grows and expands her knowledge base.

Beautiful illustrations. My 4 year old loves it. She took it to school to share it with her class and she is very happy. She's been reading it more than once per day and finds different ways of making up games with it.
