Excellent Tool!
This is a great scanner that doesn’t break the bank, I wanted good hardware and good software, the VD70 Lite has a Quad Core Processor and 64GB of storage . Other scanners only offer 32GB of storage which limits your software updates and makes your scanner slow, with 64GB of storage you can do full updates without worrying about running out of space. This scanner is fast and best of all, you get free lifetime updates, excellent value. Plus, this scanner is bi-directional and also allows you to view live data, this helps a lot when you troubleshoot, no need to remove the parts and manually test them. Being a Bidirectional scanner allows you to test components directly from the scanner saving you time and effort. I recently got a check engine light on my older 2006 corolla, did a scan and got code P0456 (Emission control Evap Small leak) as usual I checked the usual suspects, all my evap hose lines, looking for any cracks or loose connections, all looked good, pushed some smoke to detect hard to find hose cracks, all was good. I assume that It would probably be my purge valve, but I was able to test the purge valve from the scanner using one of the many bi-directional functions it offers, that was quick and easy, I could hear the purge valve opening and closing, verified purge valve had no air leaks. After not finding any line leaks, I remember that this is a 2006 corolla with the original Gas Cap, after inspecting it I could see that the gas cap gasket was so old that it had multiple deep cracks that caused a bad seal on the gas tank. After replacing the Gas Cap seal and driving the car a few cycles, my check engine light cleared. I did not clear it myself to validate that it was the bad seal I fixed. You can’t go wrong with this scanner; you get professional diagnostics quality at home and remember free lifetime updates, highly recommended.

Feature rich, reasonable to maintain.
The first impression when you open the case to inspect this scan tool is a good one. It is very nicely made of obviously high quality materials. It also is ruggedly built, it will be able to deal with rough handling with ease. I like the black with blue accents color scheme. Even the case is nice...real hinges and metal clasps. A fold out kickstand is included. The first thing you should do when it arrives is fully charge it. Mine arrived at 91% charge. After charging you should go through the set up process, which is both fast and easy. After you connect it to your WiFi system you will be prompted to update it. I would allow it to fully update prior to use. More on that later. The VD70 Lite ships in a very nice case to protect the tool as well as store it and its accessories. It comes complete with a quick start guide (full manual available on their website), a USB-C to USB-C charging cable and a USB-C to USB-A data cable to connect to your computer along with an OBDII port connector cable (VCI.) A quick note about the included power supply. I dislike it when you have to attach an adapter to the power supply to use it in US electrical outlets. The base power supply for AD70 Lite IS configured for US outlets. The included adapters are only for other countries. The tool comes with a full 12 month warranty and 3 years of free updates. When calculating the cost of scan tools, not only consider the initial purchase price, but also factor in the number of years of free updates as well as the cost of annual updates after the free period expires. You will see some REALLY eye-opening numbers out there. After 3 years of free updates (most manufacturers only provide two), annual updates are a reasonable $99/year. The VD70 Lite has a very reasonable initial purchase cost given its capabilities, it is also quite affordable to maintain. At first start you will be prompted to select a language, connect to your WiFi system and create/sign into your account. There will likely be an immediate software update. After allowing that update, I received confirmation my 3 year subscription to updates had been activated. On the home screen I noticed there were 63 vehicle and automotive system updates. I updated those as well. The whole process was completed in about 10 minutes, except for one large system update that took considerably longer. VD 70 Lite boots up quickly. The menu system is intuitive and easy to navigate. Auto VIN detect worked quickly in a 2009 Ford, a 2022 Ford and a 2016 Lexus. This scan tool is a snappy performer. It runs Android 10.0 and has 64 GB of memory. It also has a large capacity, 18.25Wh, battery for extended use between charges. One feature I did not consider to be particularly significant when I first purchased the tool, but became so later, is the fact that it is CAN FD protocol compatible. I was trying to program some additional key fobs for my '22 Ford using a much more expensive scan tool that had key programming capabilities, but it could not establish communication with the vehicle due, it turned out, to lack of CAN FD compatibility. Just the CAN FD adapter for my other scan tool costs north of $100, VDIAGTOOL has that built in, another significant savings. Listing all of the functions this tool has is basically pointless...those functions are make, year and model specific depending on what your vehicle's computers support. If you have any questions, simply message VDIAGTOOL's excellent customer service. They have always responded to me the same or next day depending on when I reach out to them. While they are located in China, their reps are extremely fluent in English. After establishing communication with the car, and either using Auto Scan or manually entering your car's info, you will be prompted to either command a full system scan, select system scan, read trouble codes or clear codes. As I said before, the tool is very fast...a scan of all modules literally takes seconds. You can then generate a report, if desired. Live data streams are also available. I was surprised that this scan tool is bi-directional considering the price. It wasn't that long ago you would be paying over $1000 for that functionality. This allows you to command certain functions or activate/deactivate certain features assuming the vehicle's computer will allow it. Again, if you have a question, contact their customer support. If this tool can't command a specific listed function for your car, it's more likely the vehicle's fault. I've used the tool fairly extensively with an '09 Ford Escape Hybrid. Bleeding the brakes is traditionally a trip to the dealer and a $150 invoice. The VDIAGTOOL can do it. This tool can live stream a great deal of information about the status of the car's HVTB, things that are of significant interest to hybrid owners. One thing of great import is the variance in the HVTB's modules' voltage. A high figure is a sure sign of impending HVTB failure. You can stream live data for that, along with state of charge, battery temperature, etc. to get an excellent idea of the HVTB's health. That could save you thousands of dollars when shopping for a used hybrid. One feature not available, which would be EXTREMELY useful is the ability to command an HVTB rebalancing. That can extend the life of your HVTB while increasing its performance. Perhaps VDIAGTOOL engineers will see this and include that functionality in a future update. VDIAGTOOL has put together a winner here. They have combined top spec hardware, excellent software and vehicle coverage, dialed in bi-directional controls and CAN FD compatibility at an extremely reasonable price with an extended period of free updates. This tool provides a lot of "bang for the buck." Highly recommended.

Nice scanner, great value for the $
I had a technical question right at first, emailed the company and got a personal response I started hearing more feedback from mechanics saying the tool truck brand scanners aren’t stacking up anymore to what’s available these days (supposedly high end) I couldn’t hold back anymore with the costs coming down and more mechanics using them. The more I use this tool the easier it gets and the more useful tools I find. That said; no more than I have to compare it to I’m still satisfied that it is feature packed and a one of the most economical scanners I could find. I’ve only used it so far on US domestic cars and trucks but no issues, and quickly resolved issues I found with the cars. The smaller size and heft are impressive also easily connected, the boot up time is sort of slow but nothing I can complain about with all the other advantages. The data quality and crisp display are paramount.

Highly recommend
The VD70 Lite is a gem for anyone needing a reliable and straightforward diagnostic tool. I recently added it to my toolkit, and it has quickly become an indispensable part of my automotive diagnostics. As an entry-level diagnostic tool, it has some promising features. Perfect for DIY like my self. Design and Build Quality The VD70 Lite impresses with its sleek, modern design. The build quality feels premium, and it’s clear that attention was paid to durability and ergonomics. It’s lightweight yet sturdy, fitting comfortably in hand and making it easy to use for extended periods without fatigue. The screen is bright and clear, making it easy to navigate through menus and read diagnostic data, even in bright lighting conditions. The compact size is perfect for easy storage in a toolbag or glove compartment. Functionality and Features: With its remarkable feature set, this tool performs way above its weight. It performs exceptionally well at decoding distress codes and provides thorough car coverage. Smooth live data streaming offers insightful information on vehicle performance in real time. A notable characteristic is the user-friendly data 8 in 1 graphing, which facilitates the quick visualization of intricate data. One further major benefit is that it's much simpler to track problems and communicate information with clients or coworkers when diagnostic reports can be generated and saved. Particularly helpful are the VD70 Lite's unique features, which include the configurable diagnostic reports and real-time data graphs. With its expanded functionality for more detailed work, the ability to execute ECU coding and programming is a nice addition. Professional technicians may feel that the full version is more appropriate because some of the more sophisticated features, such as bi-directional control, are restricted in this light edition. This tool also supports a variety of key types programming, including transponder keys and remote keys. This versatility makes it a handy tool for addressing different key programming needs, whether you're dealing with basic transponder key replacements or more advanced remote key setups. One of this tool's best features is the 31 Plus Services option. Beyond simple diagnostics, it performs a wide range of other tasks, making it a useful tool for any automobile expert. Advanced features include DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) regeneration, oil reset, calibration of the SAS (Steering Angle Sensor), and EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) servicing, among others. The VD70 Lite is an indispensable instrument for thorough car servicing because of its extensive range of services, which guarantee its ability to perform a variety of maintenance and repair operations. Ease of Use The VD70 Lite is incredibly user-friendly. The interface is clear and well-organized, with a responsive touch screen that makes navigation a breeze. Even those new to automotive or DIY diagnostics will find it easy to operate, thanks to the straightforward menu structure and helpful on-screen prompts. I found that most functions were self-explanatory. Performance and Accuracy In terms of performance, the VD70 Lite is better than expected. It rapidly establishes connections with a variety of car makes and models and provides lag-free, precise diagnostics. Effective problem diagnosis is made simple by the accurate real-time data updates. It is important to diagnose sporadic problems. Value for Money and my conclusion. For the price, the VD70 Lite is an exceptional value. It combines a feature-rich experience with robust performance, offering more than enough for both DIY enthusiasts and professional technicians. For DIY enthusiasts and small repair shops, this tool is a fantastic investment. It’s a solid investment that won’t break the bank, yet provides a high level of functionality. Beyond all expectations, the VD70 Lite is an exceptional diagnostic tool. Anyone in need of dependable car diagnostics should definitely consider it because of its user-friendly design, extensive feature set, and strong performance. The VD70 Lite is an excellent choice if you're searching for a tool that is both highly efficient and reasonably priced. The VD70 Lite is a good option to think about if you're looking for a tool that provides excellent value without sacrificing important features.

Highly competitive Bi-Directional Automotive scanner
Pros: Premium level hardware, wifi, touchscreen, quality carry case. Snappy performance, navigating from menu to menu. Plenty of options and features. I would recommend using the tool for a couple of hours to become familiar with it. Has a lot of PIDs that are not on a normal OBD2 reader Very competitive pricing vs other similar brands in this class (I checked) Very responsive support Comes with a kickstand Professional level BI-Directional scanner Comes with a builtin camera, microphone, and speaker. 31+ Reset functions (ABS bleeding, Oil, transmission, TPMS, Battery, etc) 3 Years worth of updates (I have downloaded updates for Honda and Mazda already twice in 30 days) Although the model says "Lite" that does not reflect the reduced functionality and it supports a decent variety of car brands. Recommendation: A definite buy if you are a serious DIY mechanic. Cons: On the box it says 24/7 support, but it is Asian time business hours (night time for me) Could use a tempered glass screen protector (even if I can buy it separately) Although it has a lot of Reset functions, a lot of them are only for specific car brands. But this is how it is with all Bi-Directional scanners. I did not deduct any stars, because it has earned the 5 stars.

Lacks, slow, but helps
It doesn’t do GMC well and lacks depth for instructions how to’s like simple tire pressure monitors clear. Not for GM anyway. Also it’s VERY SLOW. But it does have a robust menu feature list of other vehicles, just not sure how much can be done with those. Also it should have ECU programming, this is a inexpensive software and should be added.

Everything you need and then some
I’ve been looking for a OBD2 scanner with a lot of resets and lifetime updates with an easy to use interface and not break the bank. I in fact purchased 4 code scanners that I felt fit those criteria. The VDiagTool lite that I purchased was able to meet my expectations and exceed them. All the other reviews are doing an unboxing and give you the general specs on the tool itself. I’m going to do something a little different. Mainly some things that I needed to do with this is yes read OBD 2 fault codes. But also do rear electronic parking brakes jobs. This tool you are able to complete that process. You are able to put the parking brake in service mode. I did have a little issue starting off which I contacted the manufacturer and they reached out to me immediately to rectify the issue. Just an fyi If you are working on a vehicle that you have not yet plugged into this scanner. Make sure you are on Wi-Fi so you can download all the appropriate updates for that particular vehicle. Even if the scanner says, no updates available as soon as you plug-in it will still perform downloads for that vehicle if it was never plugged in. Another thing that is not mentioned even in description is this scanner does have I/M readiness that is important for doing emissions stickers. As you can see in my pictures. I also took a few pictures of a few of the live data and resets and tests that you can preform. But the thing that made this the scanner the winner to keep out of the four you can program key fobs. So that made this a no-brainer. The interface is easy to use. The scanner is easy to update with a lifetime free subscription. The reason why I went with a cable model instead of the Bluetooth model yes, it is battery powered, but I plan on keeping this for long-term which that means the battery will lose its lifespan, but plugging it in to the OBD2 you will still be able to use this scanner you will pull power from the vehicle. If you had a Bluetooth model, you would not be able to do that if it has no power the scanner will not work. So needless to say the other three scanners went back and this is my keeper.
