This is a good product. I bought it a few years back for my old workshop. I bought for my new workshop a few days ago and received the same good quality product as last time, however the front of the box was dented and the big bowl was cracked into three pieces. I tried mending it with clay and a torch but it didn't work. There was no way to contact the seller and ask for a replacement big bowl. I'm sending back the handle and the unused small bowl. Upon refund I'll definitely be ordering a new one.

Great product, was skeptical at first cause I've only used a graphite crucible but this one worked much better for my needs.

Tongs are short but does the job.

Before using I did use borax the laundry detergent to season the crucible. Heat till red hot then sprinkle borax over not a lot just enough to coat the crucible. Don't forget the spout. It will create a smooth shiny surface and the silver will flow easier. Has been working great. Have melted 2oz of silver in this just fine with a mapp gas torch . Have done about half dozen 2oz pours and about a dozen .25 oz pours so far.

Great for small jewelry and metals projects.

Trying to prep them is difficult

These are great for beginners. The larger the two crucibles is good for 2-3 oz of material. These are not good to go out of the package! It would be fantastic if they came with any kind of instructions so that's definitely a ding against them. These need to be preheated to draw out any residual moisture and then "seasoned" with Borax. Do yourself a favor and do your own due diligence before attempting and type of smelting and make sure to use proper PPE. These come wrapped in shrink lose in the box so be prepared. Make sure you open them straight away to ensure neither of the crucibles arrived damaged. The welds on the whip handles look fairly chincy but they hold up okay. All in all, great for beginners, professionals... Eh, not so much.

Perfect for my needs! I make a lot of small melts for different jobs. Light and easy to pour in ingot.
