The vest is made of high quality material and it has a solid zipper but the side straps can come undone easily if you have to run them out. I am a 2-3x mens and have less than 1/4 inch of tail on the strap wearing it at a comfortable setting. The ice packs it comes with work great and hold cold for about 3 hours working as a trash driver but can be a bit bulky if you overfill them or dont lay them flat enough while they freeze. Overall it gets the job done but can use some customization such as changing the straps on the sides for a better fit.

I work in the Sout Carolina heat often for the whole day. This vest helps keep me cool. The ice packs last a few hours and I replace them with extras I store in my portable fridge/freezer. Part of my job I do drive a small machine and the back 2 packs leak from the pressure of me leaning on them and the backnof the seat. I didn't really mind because it cooled me even more. I will replace all of the ice packs as they leak with the rectangle plastic ice packs. My guess is they will stay frozen longer.

If it is hot out then this vest will definitely keep you cool. I tried using one of those cool vests you put in water and wring out and put on. It felt like wearing a big wet chamois cloth. Kinda yucky. So I tried this. The vest is very nice and has extra pockets for storage other than the six big pockets built in for ice blocks. They give you twenty plastic bags to make ice blocks. Each bag has a built in kind of funnel for filling the bags which you then lay flat in your freezer to freeze. Now I didn't use those as I get frozen shipping packs with my medications. Each one is about the same size as the water packs. You put one in each of four pockets on the back and one each on the front of the vest. The vest gets very heavy with all the ice packs... probably close to ten pounds. But suck it up because it really does keep you cool and is worth every pound. You can even take a small cooler with you filled with ice blocks to put in when the current ones start to get warm. Speaking of warm, you can also use this vest during winter and put HotHands body warmers in the pockets. I really like this vest but it is very expensive at about forty dollars. To each his own.

I would give the quality of the vest 5 stars. BUT, I ordered XL and only one of our guys could use it and he is a SM. It gets 3 stars because of the size issue.

Helps on very hot days. Need to replace ice packs every hour and a half, It works as expected. It doesn't keep you "cold" but does help be less hot. Use it during the hottest part of the day and it does help to not sweat so much. Keeps your core a bit cooler. Wish it could stay frozen longer.
