The perfect ball for tossing
I was quite surprised by the big size of this medicine ball but I do LOVE the "softness" feel. I ordered this medicine ball because I wanted to be able to catch it without the hardness of a regular medicine rubber ball. I have wrist tendonitis, or arthritis that flare up sometimes and catching my other 8 lb. hard medicine ball is sometimes "torturing" my joints. I do a lot of dumbbell weights, planks, burpees, and mountain climbers floor exercises that require me to use my hand strength. This ball has made it much easier for my sore hands to do wall toss indoors as well as tossing to a partner. The soft leather cover over the 6 lb. ball really helps. You can't bounce this ball onto the floor since it's not really made for bouncing. I have the rubber (harder) medicine ball for that. The bigger size helps when catching this ball. I am so glad I ordered this because it doesn't aggravate my hand/wrist conditions as much as it would have if I used my harder medicine ball. The quality is good and I will probably order the 10lb. ball next time.

Heavy Lifting
In general, medicine balls are an affordable and low-impact option for an in-home, strength-based fitness program. Except for a built-in workout space, home-based exercise must take into consideration strength, clearance, and safety issues. Medicine balls do not require jumping (like jump ropes or agility ladders), pounding (battle ropes – which require at least a 30-foot space - or aerobic-type machines), or heavy equipment (like benches and free weights). The size of this ball allows for an individual workout using just a clean, solid, 4x4 open wall space as the “partner.” It’s ideally suited for one-on-wall exercises. Partner work is also possible – and fun – especially if paired with your young teen. My 13-year-old son loves tossing this medicine ball with me for a taxing five-minute workout (about 300 throws). When he’s not available, I can do either chest or shoulder throws against the wall (the "slam" part of the description.) The weight is heavy and firm with a pliable grip due to its synthetic cover that becomes softer as the throws heat up the surface. This ball is bigger than typical medicine balls (see pic). It’s a better fit for a big person with big hands. Smaller balls are better for floor-based isometric workouts like twists, squats, lunges, or partner-based side throws and back-to-back passes, as well as ideally sized for smaller athletes. I recommend both sizes for an all-"round" fitness regimen.NOTE: A gallon of milk is about 10 pds. If you can handle that container of weight, you can handle that weight in this size and shape. Gauge the various weights according to that metric. Pair with gaiam yoga gloves for a non-slip grip.

It works so far
Got this for my tweens to workout. It’s off balance like some others have said. But overall looks to be good product. 4lb

Happy I got it.
You know when I ordered this, I thought I was getting a 20lb ball, so I was more than a little miffed when I got a shipping conformation for an 8lb ball, so I got online and found that it did say 8lb ball in small print. So I shot off a comment to the seller about it, to their credit they offered to give me some money back, if I decided to keep it. Well it came in today and I can't stop using the thing, it feels heavier than 8lb, probably because its larger in circumference than my 12lb medicine balls and the soft outer covering lends itself well to being able to hit it hard with your knee while holding the ball in both hands without any discomfort. You see I'm a state corrections officer at a maximum security prison and I'm rehabbing from a torn MCL and meniscus after an Inmate assault back in January and one of the exercising I'm using to help me get my range of motion and strength back is a driving knee strike into the medicine ball. You could imagine how that would feel if I used one of my smaller heavier medicine balls that are hard rubber. This one works great, I'll keep it and wont take a refund and I'll be happy.

Popped Seams
Seams popped after a couple months of use. Not worth the money. I purchased 8 of these in different weights and they all failed.
