Bought my wife a used Lifespan Fitness Walking Treadmill to try out last year since she works from home and warmed up to the idea of getting some exercise while working. Turns out, she LOVES being able to stand and walk during the day, and it's toned her legs like CRAZY. Plus just knowing you're getting exercise with that whole "sitting is the new smoking" concept is nice. She works 8-10 hour days and all of that was just sitting before. So back to the need for this cable. All was good, until our 6 month old Golden Doodle puppy decided to chew on the serial cable that connected the control panel to the deck of the machine. The puppy chewed on the cable for probably 30 minutes before my wife realized what was happening. The display started blinking on and off and showing weird numbers. It's a good thing the machine didn't speed up or suddenly stop because the wires for those buttons are part of the cable as well. I spliced the cable and repaired in a few hours & got her back up &running, but I wanted to replace the whole cable so I knew she wouldn't have issues. After checking the pin-out it seemed to be a straight-through serial cable, so bought this DB9 cable to try out. Happy to say that it worked perfectly fine! This is a nice high quality cable if you're in the need for a longer DB9 serial cable.

Industrial application, needed to extend RS232 comms for an older (circa 2004) serial connection. Needed 25' but chained three of these together for testing at 45'. No issues in lab or when installed in machinery (we kept it away from any 240VAC or AC motor cabling). Would purchase again.

I got this to connect my treadmill to its standing desk console. Works exactly as expected. The little screws on the sides of the plug hold nicely, although they do feel a bit flimsy. As long as you don’t try to force it, you should be fine. Practical cord for a practical task.
