1 but a brilliant exposition of money and finance
not the literary classic of vol. 1 but a brilliant exposition of money and finance. Where would you find a book written 150 years ago so in tune with contemporary society of today. I suggest reading it with the chapters on money in Vol. 3. I view Vol. 2 very relevant in todays domination of capitalism by finance. It "screams" out(financial sector of capitalism),for a rigorous Marxist analysis.

These are his economic treatise.
After reading the first 3 volumes these books are works in economics. In fact there is an effective 4th volume, The Theory of Surplus which I have not read. I won't add to the previous descriptions of his ideas as this would be superfluous. What I have read for a summary of all his many publications is Karl Marx Selected Writings in Sociology and Social Philosophy, T.B. Bottomore and Maximilien Rubel , Pelican 1963. A full list of all his and Engels books are listed. I have also read The Communist Manifesto and also The Eighteenth Brumaire of Louis Bonaparte, describing the attempted revolution of 1848? His main sociology works seem to be The German Ideology (GI) and Grundrisse (1857-8).Or at least these are the books I would consider reading next in this line of exploration. The first 2 volumes are also available in one book from Wadsworth .

The book's edges are damaged, and it looks used. It's also a cheap photocopy of the original.

Great opportunities to reflect on the failures of our current "Capitalism is wonderful" and perhaps we can find something in the middle for an economic system that works. It requires an open mind and thinking. Read David harvey's books and check out his videos on YouTube.
