My favorite strategy card game!
I feel like Pixel Tactics isn't nearly as well-known as it should be. It's a very solid strategy card game that feels more balanced and tactically interesting than most (far more expensive) trading card games. Since every card can be used in drastically different ways, I've found that each game is wildly different from the last. It also means that each different person I've played the game with has had their own style of play (I like to use more orders and aggressive attacks against enemy heroes, my one friend liked to play defensively and use a lot of supporting heroes, and my other friend simply tried to blitz down my leader at any given opportunity). I would say the learning curve on the game is moderately-difficult and usually requires a "test game" to get used to it, but it plays at a perfect fast pace once you both know what you're doing. The only issue we've run into is a few of those "Oh, wait, we've been playing it wrong" moments where we missed a detail on one of the cards, though after a few initial hiccups, I found that the explanations and icons on the cards were always clear enough to avoid any of the dreaded "rule arguments". There was also a little confusion at first over the term "spell", which apparently used to be called "attack ability" in earlier versions of the game, which would have been a bit easier to understand given how the rules are written, but in the end "spell" is better thematically. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who likes card battling games. It's different enough to be interesting, familiar enough to be learned quickly, and way more intricate than you'd expect from a game with only 25 cards per player. I can't wait to see what happens when I mix in an expansion!

Fun card game based on your favorite clasic videogames.
Definitely a fun and different game, but the art and theme is the real star. My only complaint is that when my brother and I play Pixel Tactics games tend to drag on and take well over the suggested time. That said I would still recommend picking up the game to anyone interested in strategy and has a fondness for old school tactical videogames.

Great game if you like CCG style combos and don’t mind small print.
Pixel Tactics is an intriguing game. It’s similar to games like Magic the Gathering and Pokemon in that each of your cards has a different power, but instead of just one ability each card can be used in multiple different ways depending on where you place it in your 3x3 battle formation. It’s not really a wargame, instead you’re trying to figure out cool combinations of your units powers to destroy your opponent’s stuff in spectacular ways. This game has an amazing number of potential combos for only containing two identical decks of 25 cards. This makes play more tactical than strategic, as most any plan you make is going to be obsolete by next turn, but it does say Pixel Tactics on the box, not Pixel Strategy. The main drawback to this game is that the cards have lots of very small type on them, which will have some players quickly reaching for their reading glasses. Additionally, if you aren’t already familiar with complex, text-heavy card games like Magic the Gathering the amount of text and card interactions might seem a little daunting. I’ve played lots of complicated card games over the years, so picking this one up was a snap.

Best card strategy game ever
This game right here.. Brings back so many good memories of playing chrono trigger and chrono cross. It's a turn base strategy card game, which has 25 unique heros/leaders (total of 50 cards, 25 per player). Each player has same 25 heros/leaders so it's a fair game all around. I have all the expansions now for pixel tactics, and I'm so glad I bought them all. Pixel tactics (part one), in my opinion is the best ready to play game of them all. It's also the most aggressive deck of them all in my opinion. If you are barley getting into pixel tactics and not sure which one to start off with, buy this one! Trust me! It's the easiest way to get into this game as well (other games comes with traps, orders, operations). Each game you play is always unique because of all the choices you can make in this game. It's so crazy how you can strategize so many different ways depending on which leader you choose. Love this game, I recommend this game to anyone who loves turn base strategy games. Just buy it. In the photo I attached, I played a game with my girlfriend and hard countered her so bad lol. Unfortunately, you need to first understand the game to realize how I got her so good lol.

All in all it looks like a solid game
As advertised - have not had a chance to play it yet but the rules seem simple enough even though though the games design gives it a variety of options. All in all it looks like a solid game.

A small deck with a lot of game inside
This game has a brilliant mechanic; any card can be played to have one of several different effects. The system forces difficult tactical decisions. The first choice in the game, which card to choose as leader, sets the strategy for the round. Some are strictly offensive, some defensive, and others just plain weird. Despite the chosen strategy having a strong impact on game play I find that games are usually very competitive and remain tense to the end. This game creates a strong sense of confrontation. You are always attacking or being attacked by your opponent and you best laid plan may be derailed immediately before you can implement it. If you like that tension then this is the game for you. When playing with my son we choose to re-imagine it as dodge ball to lower the emotional stakes.

I like the theme and art style
Decent game, I like the theme and art style. Downside is there is a ton of reading and it takes a long time to get familiar with the cards and all the options they provide
