Mount to aluminum flat bar for best results
Although these are marketed toward photography, I use them for DIY aquarium lighting. Not only can you accomodate any tank size with these strips, but the colors of the fish and decor look vibrant and natural and plants grow just fine under them. These are power hungry strips that run pretty warm - I'd advise mounting to aluminum flat bar to reduce heat and lengthen their lifespan. If running more than 6-8 feet worth, I'd recommend using the 24V version of the strip + a 24V power supply (cuts current requirement in half, which allows you to use lighter gauge wire between the power supply and strips).

A comment on the video for making light panels.
In order to minimize cracking and breakage of the clear panels, try to find polycarbonate (Lexan, etc.) instead of Plexiglas (Acrylic, Perspex). Acrylic is brittle and hard to cut or drill cleanly. You can usually find polycarbonate in your local home improvement or hardware store. Polycarbonate is stronger and more flexible.

After plugging in the lights with the proper power supply. I was disappointed to see the lights are super dim and 3 LEDs are not lit up at all.
