She makes me feel as if we are having a cup of coffee just talking. I love Gilmore so anything she writes makes me happy. Review: Short & positive - I know naysayers in the 1-star reviews talked of it being too positive and too short. I see what they're saying. However, because it's such a short book (not even 50 pages), I found it satisfying, especially as someone who worries often and can be pessimistic about life. This book was essentially an adaptation of a graduation speech she gave in 2017, and it has a handful of anecdotes, quite a bit of encouragement, and even good advice here and there. I say it's worth 30 minutes of your time.

Whimsical and uplifting
Delightful reading! Not only for graduates but for everyone who needs a little bit of hope. As my 9 year old nephew started chemo and became rapidly distressed and overwhelmed this book was the only thing that could make him smile, even though he’s young and not graduating at the moment we had a delightful experience with it! This is Vin’s favorite part “ Sometimes we have to face the fact that what happens to us in life isn’t controllable, and if we wait a while, don’t take it personally, and decide to enjoy ourselves anyway, the sky will eventually clear up.” Forever grateful for this book that brought my baby’s smile back, we read it together at every chemo and the other kids love it too!

Not Exactly a Book, But...
This is more of a booklet as it is only 49 pages and not all pages are full but the ideas and advice are sound and the examples are very relatable. This was designed as a speech for a high school graduation but can apply to anyone at any stage in their life. A great, quick read that can and should be revisited periodically.
