Eagle Claw Minnow Trap Black, 9-Inch x 16-1/2-Inch

I just used the minnow trap for the first time .It worked amazingly well ,the first time I caught over 30 minnows in less than 10 minutes.All I had to do was put a little piece of bread in the trap and the minnows just absolutely destroy it.I have two ponds on my property,one that I just stocked and the fish are finally getting big enough to eat smaller fish. The other pond is where I am getting my minnows from because a pond will naturally stunt the fish down over 20 years or so.This product will work very well for but also for anyone who needs minnows for fishing.The technique that I found out works best is making small balls of bread and leaving one piece to float in the trap which really draws the minnows in quickly,then It's just a matter of opening the trap and dropping the minnows in a bucket or live well.This product works very well and does a very good job at catching all size minnows from just a little bigger than an inch to around five inches .I am very happy with the quality and performance of this minnow trap and look forward to using It for years to come.

I replaced their Fastener clip with some wire. The clip allows a gap between the two halves. The wire holds them closed nicely. Overall I like this

Smaller holes for fish than expected.

Works great, I mean great. ONLY one problem. THE wire needs to be a smaller gauge, many of the very fish I want to catch slide right through the holes. NOW the only thin I can possibly do it warp it in some material to stop this and I really don't have time to be doing this. Leaving someone's home today I was a little pencil basket. SAME kind of mesh metal but the holes were half the size as the ones in these fish traps. Other than that it works great. Within Minutes they're going in and I caught like 15 the first time I dropped it in within an hour. I am surprised the people mfg. this didn't think of this. Other than that, again, it works great.

Right out of the box,the item didn’t connect properly. The hook and eye fasteners on trap were positioned improperly preventing the trap from closing correctly and creating a gap when closed. This misalignment makes the clip difficult to put on which peels the vinyl coating when connecting to the loops. No doubt it will rust at that location. I have had many minnow traps. This one was poorly fabricated. I think if the parts were put together properly it would be pretty decent. Update 9/3/19 Eagle Claw sent me a replacement trap which closes correctly and appears to be made properly. Thanks Eagle Claw!

Compre esta trampa para conseguir carnada viva, es para peses pequeños, esta muy bien construida y se siente resistente, Cierra muy bien, le doy 4 estrellas porque me falta probarla en campo.
