Kan Jam Hard Count Football Game Set

I love and own the original kan jam so when I saw this at my buddies house a few weekends ago I had to play. Two days later mine arrived at my house, thanks Prime ;)

This set comes with 2 Kan Jam goals, a youth size football, decals to place on the Kan Jams and instructions. So, everything you need. There is no tackling. . . no flags. . . so no pads are needed. Fun for boys. . . girls. .. families. . . Lightweight and portable. Easy to take to the park. This is the football version of this game, but other versions are available. The box shows: Designed, engineered and assembled in America. . . .but it doesn’t say that it’s Made in the USA. . . so I have the feeling the pieces are probably made in China.

Cones fall over every time you try to score. Not really fun for younger kids.

This is about as low end as can be. It might hold a child's attention for ten minutes, but that's about it. It is basically rolled plastic with a hole and football. I honestly don't know what else I can say about it.

This was very easy to put together, and fun to play. Well, by "play" I mean throw a football through a hole. My son and youngest daughter, however, made a game of it (they threw closer than I did) and it was a lot of fun. It is easy to put together and take down, although a case would be nice to pair with it for even easier storage. Everything you need is here, and it seems well built, especially for the price.

This game will wear you out! Goals are set 20 yards apart, and one team kicks off (throws) the ball to the other team. The player in possession of the ball is allowed two steps, and then he must pass to a teammate. Also, when a player has the ball, he can only have possession for 6 seconds, which the defense counts out loud (hence the "hard count" name). He must pass before that 6 seconds is up, or they lose a down. Just like American football, the offense has 4 downs. A touchdown is scored when the ball goes either through the front hole, or top, of the goal, however, you can get three points for just hitting the goal with the ball. There are other rules, like field goals, 2 point conversions, etc. Winner is the first team to 21. Like ultimate frisbee, there is a lot of non stop action, so it is very good exercise. The goals are just plastic sheets that snap together, BUT they are very tough, and are made to be abused. We have accidentally kicked them, tripped over them, fell on them, and they are fine. The only negative would be nice to have a better ball, however the included one is a good size, and is very grippy.
