Lovely little steamer. Nice and compact so doesn’t take up a lot of room. Works very well and steams the food beautifully. Easy to clean and saves a lot of time and washing up! I would recommend using this to anyone

Very good, watch the steam though.
Really good and easy to use, lightweight steamer baskets but be mindful of the steam when removing baskets, likewise the hot water left within the base afterwards - allow it to cool before emptying the water out. Definitely keep out of reach of kids and away from the worktop edge, stability is questionable as it’s tall and narrow. Don’t try to move it once it’s in use! We recently had our gas boiler removed and replaced with an Air Source Heat Pump so it seemed pointless paying a gas standing charge for just our cooker rings (ovens are electrical) and our gas fire which we don’t use anyway. I needed a way to cook things that we used to use the gas rings for, this steamer was bought to tied us over until we have a new kitchen in a years time. It is brilliant, easy to use it’s got a lot of power and does steam beautifully and even. You can cook enough for 4 people with Sunday Dinner servings. As an added bonus we can take this camping with us as we have an inverter in our van. Electric hook up. It’s already paid for itself in the 2 months since we had the gas capped off and removed by our supplier and the portable induction job we’ve also bought.

A brilliantly reliable steamer!
Bought my first Salter steamer 4 years ago, since then it has been 100% reliable, used several times a week to steam vegetables and has never let me down. I just fancied a brand new one and will keep the old one as extra if needed. It’s very easy to clean. The baskets may look flimsy but in fact are very sturdy, dishwasher proof, doesn’t take up much room in the kitchen. A very good product at a very reasonable price, I can highly recommend this steamer.

Great for Weaning – Quick, Easy & Healthy Baby Meals!
We’ve been using this electric food steamer as part of our 7-month-old’s weaning journey, and it’s honestly been one of the best purchases we’ve made. It makes preparing healthy meals so simple—just pop in the fruit or veg, press a button, and it steams everything to the perfect softness for baby in minutes. We’ve used it for everything from carrots and broccoli to apples and pears, and it keeps all the nutrients and flavor intact. It’s also super handy for batch cooking—once everything’s steamed, we just blend or mash and freeze portions for later. The steamer is easy to use, easy to clean, and doesn’t take up much counter space. It’s especially helpful on busy days when you want to make fresh food without a lot of effort or mess. Highly recommend for any parent starting solids—it’s a time-saver and gives you peace of mind knowing your baby’s getting nutritious, homemade meals!

It’s ok
A bit small! It has a good quality, it cooks quite quickly but the water keeps coming out because the container is small! Ita easy to use and you can cook really healthy food

Wonderful!😍
Treated myself and haven't been dissapointed. This little gem has been fantastic 😁.Not cooked any meat or fish in it. The vegetables and potatoes i've done have been done absolutely spot on! So much more flavour in veggies for steaming as opposed to boiling!😋 xxx

For couples or small families
Had this for 6 months now. Capacity is good for 2 or 3 people, but I do often steam potatoes and they do take up more room. The bowls feel quite flimsy, and cannot be put in dishwasher, but so far are lasting well. Is quite easy to clean by hand, anyway. My previous steamer was the Morphy Richards 48755, which was larger, so I am comparing to that. Smaller size is good for storage and its light and easy to put in/take out of cupboard. The base for water capacity in the Salter is smaller, so you have to watch the water level more, but you can cook potatoes without having to top up. What is better with the Salter is that the bowls are all the same size, using separate rings to hold and support them, so you can easily swap bowls around to different levels, which helps if the top bowl is not cooking as fast as the bottom one. (the Morphy Richards were differing size bowls). A minor point but I saw someone else mention it, is that this Salter steamer does not make audible ping sound when the timer finishes, but you can hear a small noise as it clicks off, so its not a big deal. With the steamer (and any steamer, really) what I like is that I can put something like potatoes onto to cook, then leave them, knowing they won't boil away to a mush, and I also use it to keep veg warm, without over cooking anything. One extra aspect is that this steamer is very low wattage, so very economical to run.
