i own several lionchiefs, but this one ranks the highest. great detailing, beautiful work on this one. it runs very well and I am very happy with it. i got it on sale, what a great value that day was! it comes with the standard fastrack which is pretty good, albeit a bit nousy

Long ago I got over the fact that these Lionel Trains are no longer manufactured in America, maybe that will change in the future. Presently, though imported, the quality of Lionel Trains has seen improvements of late. As a long time collector of Lionel, both Post-War and Modern Era, this Santa Fe set is a beautiful addition to my collection. The set arrived in great shape albeit loose in an oversized box, and it was easily unpacked and set up within 15 minutes. Outside of a few couplers on the passenger cars having been shaken loose from a long journey, they were easily popped back into place and the train runs great. Good sound, good control, and very smooth running along the FasTrack of my layout. The price, below MRP, was a bargain and I look forward to proudly running this train. Even better, this review was entirely composed by me without the assistance of AI.

This has to be one of the most impulsive impulse purchases I've made in a while- that turned out to be a huge hit during the holidays. Lionel still makes a great train set, and the pieces, while plastic, are as durable as I remember as a kid. Great for hours of analog nostalgia. Be sure to get lithium batteries for the remote- especially if you like to run the thing all day. Happy!
