BCA Backcountry Access BC Link Mini Radio - FRS Backcountry Communicator

My Motorolas of 20 years finally died, mostly due to moisture getting in, so when I saw BCA release the mini, I had to try it. I liked it so much I bought 2 more! Pros: - Looks awesome! Easy to find due to the color - Water proof - USB C - Range and sound quality is excellent, especially in the 2 watt channels and with the higher end codes - Battery life is a huge plus, I used them for 3 days without charging. My daughter even left one on overnight - Very easy to press button, even with gloves and through my Jacket - Dual channel (1 to send, 2 to receive) you can monitor a separate group - They are a bit chunky. I say that’s a good thing because it makes it easier to handle and hold, especially with gloves - Lots of clipping options included, as well as a carabiner lanyard Cons: - you can’t turn off the 2nd receiving channel, so you have to tune both to the same channel if you want to avoid chatter - the “belt clip” included does not rotate, it would be nice if it did to clip on to vertical pockets - no jack for lapel Mic

My friends are using Rockie Talkies and I bought this one. It seems no difference from ROcki Talkie quality wise.

I love the mini’s. Very functional.

Pretty awesome for skiing. Compact and small. Stayed connected with our groupies across most of the mountain at Tahoe. Sound was crystal clear. Battery lasts all day no problem, even exposed to cold. Big buttons - easy with gloves. It pairs with other walkie systems too based on frequency. For Range, I haven't tried other models, but I hear the range is as good as it gets without getting a more powerful 5 watt walkie that requires a license.

These work great for snowmobiling and we also use them between tractors in the field.

We have a Garmin, and we got this one. I don't understand my friends what they are saying. And we are only 200-300 yards away in the trees. Garmin works perfect, but this thing not. Not recommended to buying. Might be its not comparable with Garmin?

Bought two of these, so my son and could keep in touch in the hill for a recent trip. So far working out great. Range is acceptable, small self-contained form factor works well. A little odd using a radio. In tight spaces like busses or cable cars, but overall great to have such an easy way to communicate without digging cell phones out of pockets.

Great range! Lightweight. So far the battery power holds up.
