VEMER VN319000 model TMC 30/24 DIN-rail mounting safety transformer for continuous service 230V/12-24V. Color Grey

I recently purchased the VEMER VN319000 TMC 30/24 Continuous Operation Transformer for a project requiring a stable 12-24V power supply, and it has not disappointed. The 230V to 12-24V output range is perfect for powering my system, providing just the right amount of power at 30 VA. One of the standout features of this transformer is its continuous operation. It has been running non-stop since I installed it and has proven to be reliable, with no issues with overheating or performance dips. The Unifi Protect G4 Doorbell is by far and away the best consumer video doorbell on the market, and with no ongoing subscription costs, beats the heck out of Ring, Nest & Eufy offerings. Unifi Protect depends upon local video storage - I much prefer this model over the 'someone else's computer' cloud-approach. As of right now though it's targeted at the US market and for US doorbell chime voltages (16 to 24v AC) so requires a bit of thought to work in the UK. Not wanting to miss out here in the UK, and having just moved into a new house which happily had a mains supply near the door from a 30 year old faulty alarm system, I was able to chase in a cable and fused spur switch and fit a 5/6-way DIN enclosure and a Honeywell D117 electromechanical chime box. There are limited 240v mains transformer options available that would fit this setup but the Vemer 30/24 can supply both 24v AC and 12v AC, so along with an AC relay, I was able to supply the Unifi Protect G4 doorbell with 24v AC and the chime box with 12v AC. Everything works a treat, no sign of the 'instant smoke' referred to by other reviewers; one has to suspect user error in those cases though manufacturing faults could also explain it I suppose... though surely they are tested before leaving the factory? Mine seems perfect however and has been happily supplying my video doorbell for a week or more with no problems. A bit pricey but recommended and it should last for years.

This transformer is designed for 230V input. Because the UK never actually harmonised on 230V and stayed on 240V this means that the transformer output voltage will be higher than 24V as the transformer is being supplied with a voltage that is a bit higher than it was designed for. Worse still, the mains voltage in UK homes frequently rises to 250V or over, particularly at night. This will further raise the output voltage of the transformer above its rated output. With an input voltage of 251V tonight the transformer was outputting 32V while loaded with a video doorbell. This is significantly higher (25%) than the maximum voltage specified for many video doorbells. Normally these tolerances do not result in equipment failures but in this case the doorbell is rated at 24V which its maximum operating voltage. While other reviews state that these transformers are perfect, they clearly are far from optimal. Many doorbells will “work” but they risk having a reduced lifespan due to the continuous over voltage. Time will tell. Not recommended.

it's dead after less than 2 yrs.....

Only one of my doorbells requires 24 VAC with 10VA...... I have two.... originally I used my legacy PSU which worked ok at daytime.... but at night, when the IR illumination came on.... it ran red hot.... and when operating the either doorbell they rebooted..... I then swapped to a 16VAC 8VA I had spare... this worked just... but also ran hot.... upgrading to this 24 VAC 30VA PSU meant that both video doorbells run fine, at night with IR illumination powered, and the PSU itself is barely delectably warm... which means it is well within it capability. To operate a video doorbell properly with IR illumination (plus continuous ONVIF recording to NVR) you require a properly sized AC PSU. There is no way a wire free battery powered one could even function with the same level of performance.

As an electrician this was very easy to install into my DB, it uses 3 ways in DB. It works perfectly and is completely safe, no such issues of overheating/fire/smoke etc as mentioned in some other reviews. This is perfect if you want to wire up a smart doorbell such as a Eufy hard wired 2k version which requires 24vac 30va. All in all it is perfect for this job. Also another very quick delivery by Amazon.

Ottimo trasformatore di sicurezza per servizio continuo, ne sono rimasto molto soddisfatto, l'ho utilizzato per realizzare l'impianto dei campanelli (con il pulsante con targa porta nome fuori la porta di casa) e l'impianto per il ronzatore di emergenza del bagno (con il pulsante a tirante nella doccia). Ho utilizzato in passato varie Marche super blasonate come Bticino, ma sin troppo costose, questa volta ho perciò voluto provare questo Vemer e ne sono rimasto entusiasta, sia per la qualità costruttiva, sia per il serraggio delle viti, migliore a mio parere del Bticino. Se in futuro ne avessi ancora bisogno sicuramente mi affiderò a questo VEMER che per qualità/prezzo si è rivelato il top 👍.. Amazon poi come sempre puntuale..sempre una garanzia.

Purchased for EUFY E340 Doorbell. Working perfectly fine since last 30 days with no battery drop even 1 % and remains fully charged. My daily traffic is around 15 to 20 Door visitors. Fully satisfied
