Butane Gas Filling Adaptor

I bought this along with a SOTO flame igniter, for refilling from common iso-butane cannisters used with hiking stoves. It works great! SOTO products overall are very well designed and manufactured (in Japan, not China), and this one is no exception. It fills a very niche need, but does it with great design and elegance. Recommended

Very useful for the garage needs and service up your hand held torch with high quality camping fuel. Had a bunch of camping canisters that been sitting there get to make use of them now. Easy operation.

High quality refill adapter for Soto products. I use it to refill my Soto pocket torches and it works perfectly. It is easy to use and I can refill my pocket torches in a couple of seconds. I like that all of Soto's products are Made in Japan (not China).

So, I can't offer much of a review yet but I can offer a warning, not all butane canisters will work with this. This adapter screws on to a canister and apparently not all canisters screw into their respective appliances. I bought a Coleman canister and it doesn't have threads and the outlet is too small for the adapter to fit into. The adapter itself is heavy and feels well built. The nozzle gaurd is very tight and snaps into place. How much protection it actually offers is questionable; good in one direction, maybe passable in the other.

Adapter allows you to connect a isobutane canister (popular for camping/hiking) and fill butane lighter-type valves. NOT MADE FOR 1lb PROPANE canisters. Not the product's fault if misunderstood. In addition, if you are trying to put PROPANE into your little plastic refillable lighter, it will likely explode from the higher pressure of propane vs butane/isobutane. Please do your research and stay safe.

I searched all over to find some way to reliably use the Coleman stove-style butane canisters to refill butane lighters, and having found nothing substantial that would directly allow this, I stumbled on this Lindal screw-type output to lighter refill adapter, and so long as you combine this with one of the commonly available butane canister-to-Lindal adapters, you can quickly and easily fill lighters from the much cheaper stove-style butane canisters. On top of that, if you feel like living on the edge, you can refill your lighters with the camping butane-propane mixed fuels to get a more robust fuel source and stronger flame using this adapter directly. You could conceivably use this to put straight propane into those lighters as well, but I would not recommend this for the obvious reason that propane is stored at a significantly higher pressure than butane, and so if you tried to fill a cheap butane lighter with this, you're probably going to hurt your lighter, yourself, or both.

I bought this to do something you're not supposed to do. To fill my torch lighters with propane instead of butane. A single small propane canister will refill my lighters for aeons past their lifetime and propane has a higher pressure so they get "Super charged" and burn a much longer sharper flame. Do be careful though as this can be dangerous is not something that should be taken lightly. Exercise caution in use and storage if you're thinking about doing the same.

Works but the Soto lighter is expensive for bad quality

Cet adapteur va très bien sûr tout les produits SOTO briquets et chalumeau et brûleurs. Mais à la condition d'utiliser des bouteilles de recharge très grande . Si l'on utilise une petite bouteille de gaz liquide moins de 500 ml cet adapteur ne sert à rien car les petit flaconnage se branchent directement sur le briquet à recharger.
