I wouldn't dunk it in water but if your doing something like kayaking it will probably be fine.

They kept our phones completely dry, and we were able to venture into the sea all together carrying our valuables with us so we could enjoy the day instead of worrying about keeping an eye on our stuff! Would highly recommend!

These worked great when I went rafting! I fell into the water multiple times and my phone in the pouch stayed dry and safe! The place where you rent the rafts from before you go down the river was selling something similar for $15 each! Glad I was prepared with my own!
