RICH SOLAR 20A MPPT Solar Charge Controller
did the job nicely, only draw back is if you blow the fuse inside it you have to compleatly take it out of your system and dismantle it, then add in a new fuse. other then that its good. terminals are sturdy and can handle the proper guage wire, draw back can only do 20 amp output for all the models. input looks to be flexable

Best one yet
So, I've had several charge controllers, all with plusses and minuses. This one comes closest to perfect. After trying out a Renogy which had issues, I found out this unit is basically a Renogy with better hardware. Even better yet, it uses the same serial protocol and cable wiring as the Renogy. This way, I could use the same monitoring software, which has been working flawlessly ever since. I use it in an all sky camera standalone application (pc, camera, cellular hotspot, battery and solar panels). I did shut it off during the recent cold spell, not because of the controller but the lifepo battery, which shouldn't be charged at low temps. So far, a few months in fairly hard winter weather, and this has held up as well as a victron unit which was my favorite. This one is even better, it has very high conversion efficiency (over 80% on most days) and so far reliable as heck.

good value works fine has full manual or factory settings.
1st 1 worked well for 2 years but lost the screen view lcd, & it does not light up which would be huge, (IT'S INSTALLED IN A DARK PLACE AM I RIGHT?) in any case got the replacement & 6 months in no problems. Easy nice large gauge connector slots, full set of parameters for manual settings lovers, a bit confusing on set up, use youtube for the Rich solar controller reviews & set up because the manual is quit poor. Also put a larger fuse in the battery connector wire I have a 30a to cover the bursts of sun energy you get coming out of clouds, this has permanently fixed fuse blow. My set up> 2 PQ 100amp LiFePO, 2 newpowa 100w solar 1 portable Rich 100w hard panel, 11DX,18 ft Alpenlite cab over Camper. GREAT EASY SET UP PLENTY OF POWER. I am full time off grid.

works great except small glitch only on 1 occasion
Product charges battery very well. Shows percent battery is charged also. Charges in ‘smart stages’. Product was smart enough to know that i could not charge 2 12 volt (24volts) batteries w 1 solar panel because its not efficient. I can only charge 1 at a time. 2 panels needed for 24 volts. Lots of displays like amps from panel, % battery full, errors. Plz remember to use fuses. Always connect battery then solar panel the only problem was.... after several months of use, the controller was throwing error 02, battery overcharged. after many hours of thinking it was the solar panel, I finally realized the controller was incorrectly telling me the battery was overcharged when it wasn't. maybe this happened when I hooked up the battery to the controller. solution to fix was easy... just unplug the unit from the battery and replug it in again. followup: unit lasted 4 years and wouldn't work, but for 79.00 and in the heat of louisiana, I guess I can't complain, so I'm buying another.

Faulty Product and Poor Customer Service
I purchased this product in April, 2023. I used it less than 1/2 dozen times and it functioned as designed. On June 14, 2025 I started a 4000 mile boondocking camping trip thru New Mexico, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota. The controller worked fine on the first week of the trip but then it would not power up when connected to my solar panels. I called Rich Solar Tech support a few times before I finally contacted them. The Tech Support person said to me that I had to perform some diagnostic tests to determine if the unit was faulty and if it was they would fix or replace. He asked that I send him a screenshot of the invoice which I did. After a week and a half of me doing all sorts of diagnostics and sending them videos and pictures of such, it was determined that the unit was faulty. During this time of me sending the required document via email I received no responses and phone calls were not returned. When I finally contacted them they told me that the device was out of warranty, tough luck. I wrote them an email on my dissatisfaction of how this was handled and that I would write a review on my experience. I was then told that they would give me a 20% discount coupon on the purchase of another controller. After numerous calls, the coupon was never sent. I will not be buying any of their products in the future. Their customer service is very poor at best as well as unresponsive. The quality of their product is questionable at best.

Nice unit, good terminal connections
For a small solar array, this is a good unit, terminals are great for connections, Easy to program, chargers battery's just like they need to be charged.

Great value
This is a great performing unit. It was easy to install and hook up my 300 watt solar panel to the boat batteries. My only issue is that the manual doesn't do a good job of leading you through the various display options. But, after you've scrolled through it becomes sort of obvious. It does operate in true MPPT fashion (some other low cost units have been found not to). The quality seems high also.

I have been using my unit for 4 days now. I have an error message (E15) and their manual only lists to E13!! I have tries to call multiple times, I emailed, I tried their live chat, no one is answering and I am left with no power!! This is not the headache, or the product, you want. Trust me!
