Connected old external drive to modern computer
This cable successfully connected an old external hard drive with FireWire port to a more modern computer. The computer could determine that the external drive was connected. Because the drive itself had failed, data could not be transferred or read, but that was not the fault of the cable. So, I was unable to test the data transfer but have no reason to believe that there would be an issue.

What’s connecting old camera to computer
This cable is exactly what I needed to connect my old video recorder to my computer. Now I can copy all my old tapes to my computer. This works great.

Doesn’t work. Should have realized before purchasing. Don’t waste your money. If I didn’t sit on it for so long before trying, it definitely would have been returned

For my devices, at least, this did not allow me to mount my FireWire drive on a USB port. Pretty useless.

Tuve que regresarlo porque fue mi plan B para solucionar un problema de conexión temporal y el precio había sido demasiado para permitirme otro cable de emergencia, pero fue decisión difícil porque la calidad de construcción de las terminales era por mucho superior a la de la solución que encontré en tiendas de electrónica locales.

Llego en tiempo y forma pero... No funciono. No estoy seguro si fue el cable o el tipo de conexión por cable. Definitivamente se necesita algo mas que un simple cable. Corrección: Ya había buscado alternativas, solo encontré el convertidor de Thunderbolt 3 a USB-C; me falta el convertidor de Thunderbolt 3 a FireWire, este ultimo no lo encuentro en venta. Es para rescatar una mezcladora Mackie Onix 1620i que conectaba a mi computadora antigua, que ya paso a mejor vida. Lastima. RIP.
