Great value for entry to professional level performance; Use a different app, though...
This is, essentially, a "MJX Bugs 18 Pro" white labeled by Bezgar. And I am glad they did this! The BD901 is quite the value when on sale; and still a solid flyer at regular retail. The flight is stable, and the video is incredible! The range is unbelievable and more than capable of flying within VLOS at the 400 feet ceiling. The controller is awful, though; the strap for mounting the phone barely holds on. The phone ejects upon any bump of the hands or sudden movement. I fixed my issues with it by putting a small Velcro dot on the side of my phone case with the other side mating to the top of the controller phone holder. The app is basically unusable. It will sort of work; but it doesn't play nice with my home button setup and so I can never access the configuration menu. Not that it matters; there are no permissions for writing to the storage so recording and everything else is not easily accomplished, anyway. Whats pretty cool, though? This is, as I said, a MJX Bugs 18 Pro. There is another remade version of this; the Holy Stone HS720R is basically the same drone. I have a HS720E and realized the app Bezgar calls for is a precursor to Holy Stone's Ophelia Go app. So I used the Ophelia Go app I already have for the HS720E and it worked great! I was surprised it even gave me the appropriate features and settings in the menus as compared to when I connect the HS720E! I am giving five stars here because the drone is a phenomenal value for what I paid for it. And I am very happy with the purchase. I could find no other 3-axis gimbal enabled model in this price range. The only other one I have seen is the HS720R and that is the same drone with a time lapse feature added. If I were to be critical I would say it probably doesn't deserve more than four stars for the following reason: It would only get 1 star if it was based only on the app or remote as they bring down what is an otherwise great product. Additionally, this is a bit more than a starter drone: Prepare to get a RiD and register it if you don't already have one; this is a nearly 400 gram drone.

The perfect starter drone at the $300 price point. Thanks bezgar!
If you are looking for a starter drone, this well-made BD901 drone is a beginner-friendly drone. I purchased this drone to capture aerial footage and have been impressed with its performance. The BD901 is a foldable FPV drone that is compact, measuring just 6x4x3 inches, and comes with a carrying case for easy transportation. The battery and remote controller can also be conveniently stored in the case. Camera parameter - The camera on this drone is a 3-axis gimbal ultra high-definition 4K camera that ensures smooth and stable footage, even at high speeds. The EIS anti-shake system allows for breathtaking pictures, even in windy conditions. The camera angle is adjustable up to 120 degrees, allowing you to find the perfect angle for your shots. Transmission & flight time - The drone’s 5G Wi-Fi transmission system allows for a maximum flying range of 9850 feet, but it’s best to fly in spacious areas with minimal signal interference. The flight time is up to 25 minutes on a single battery charge. The BD901 also includes various beginner-friendly functions to ensure a safe flight. The tap-to-fly function allows you to tap a random point on your phone screen, and the drone will fly to that destination. Flollow me mode, this is one of my favorite functions, allows me to take some creative videos so that I can post it on my Tik Tok account. GPS return-to-home function prevents the drone from flying away or dropping in case of signal loss or low battery. The one-key return to home or emergency stop function is also helpful in handling emergencies. Long story short. the BD901 is an affordable photography drone that provides a superior experience without breaking the bank.

Drone is great, app not so much.
I'll start with the cons, the con is in the app, not the drone. The app will connect to the drone, and you can see what the camera sees. On Android 14 at least, you cannot record what you are seeing while you are connected to the drone with your phone. The app does not ask for the correct permissions, and you cannot give the app the correct storage permissions access. So you can fly the drone around, but you can't record while using the app. You can record if you don't connect your phone to it, but the problem there is that it is difficult to tell exactly what you are recording. The pros, the drone takes off and lands nicely, it hovers exactly where you stop controlling it, feels like it is pretty solid construction. Drone responds well to controls. I have no issues with the drone itself, but the app the manufacturer decided to tie to this drone needs some work. If the app gets an update and this changes, I will change my review. I have not tried a good recording with the drone yet due to the above mentioned issues, but I do know it does record. I tried a small recording with the phone disconnected, and it did record, but that was only a test to see if the function worked while the phone was disconnected. I contacted their tech support, they did respond, and basically asked me to uninstall and reinstall the app, said it worked on their Galaxy phones, but I'm not sure what version of Android they were running. I do know they said they were using an older Galaxy than my S24+, but I tried it on my S20+ with a damaged screen and I got the exact same messages I received on my S24+. I don't know if it has the same problems on Apple products, but I know if you have an S24+ with Android 14, it's going to give you issues. Update: I contacted Bezgar's support team, they were very pleasant and helpful. We were not able to come to a good solution for my particular situation. They tried the drone on a phone using Android 14 also and said it worked for them correctly. I am not sure why my app will not ask for storage permissions on my particular phone, I noticed others on the app site for Android were having similar issues in the comments. I attempted to contact the email on the page for the app without response. I like the drone, it does what I want it to for the most part, I am just hoping for a future app update to fix these issues myself and others are having. I have no issue with the Bezgar drone itself, or their support staff, the issues are with the app on a Samsung Galaxy S24+ running Android 14. New update: Until the app gets an update to fix the permissions issues, I found a work around of sorts. If you power the drone, connect to the drone's wifi, start recording with the controller, THEN connect the app to the drone you can fly the drone while seeing what you are recording. You cannot stop your recording unless you don't plan on starting the recording again. The drone and app need to be powered down and the process restarted for the recording while viewing to work correctly again, but for the time being for me this will work. I've informed Bezgar of the issues, and the work around. I hope the writers of the xdrone app fix the issue soon, because I do like the drone.
