Excellent use all the time

I was a bit sceptical about these after reading some of the reviews. I regularly have to disconnect push fit fittings for work so worth a shot. They do work brilliantly on 8mm, but do sometimes struggle a bit to grip the softer 6mm tubing. I have added some rubber edge strip to the gripping part of the toll which has improved them a lot.

I have not used the tool to any great extent as yet but am happy with it from my limited usage thus far. The smaller tool has to be used for tube up to 3/8". One must maintain a tight grip on the plier handles so the tool is less likely to slip on the tube, while at the same time working the lever to depress the lock ring and start the tube out of the fitting. I have found it necessary to take two or three 'bites' before the tube will come free of the fitting, each bite moving the tube an eighth inch or so. It is a bit awkward to use with one hand and I have found it necessary to use both, one to grip the plier handles and the other to work the unlocking and pulling lever. As I use it I expect it to become easier. Despite the awkwardness, this tool is the only thing I've found that will remove these plastic air lines from their fittings, therefore I can recommend this tool. It is reasonably priced and WORKS!

Was skeptical when considering to purchase but was pleasantly surprised that it works. Will probably buy the small sized 1/4, 5/16 as well. Saves some frustration disconnecting worn fittings.

I ordered this because of one specific review that mentioned it worked with kegland duotight fittings and EVAbarrier tubing for beer lines in homebrewing. I did initially turn it down because the Amazon AI is, let's face it still not great and possibly biased, go figure. It told me that it would specifically not work with it and to go with another product. A week later I saw a new review about use with these my same beer equipment and he said it was a lifesaver and he is right. The little tool we have for duotight sucks and is worthless, this one is super easy to use, and it disconnected the beer lines cleanly, no fighting. The 6-8mm size was perfect for my beer lines at 8mm OD. It won't pay for itself over time, but the ease of use makes it worth the money vs the frustration of fighting with taking apart beer lines. The center prong feels flimsy like it's going to fall off since it is not under tension, but it worked perfectly. Hats off to the other reviewer.

Tool isn't very sturdy won't release older fittings that haven't been released in a while
