The whetstone is solid and good quality, genuine double sided and sits snug in the strong plastic block, which I used with a simple bench stop to steady. The abrasive quality of the stone, on each side, is good. As the blurb states, the (comparatively) broad roller wheel on the guide allows accurate positioning of the blade being sharpened. I did initially wonder about the price, but good diamond stones are not cheap, and the roller blade guide is easy to set up and use.

Works well for short chisels. Works without modification at 25°, but I had to chamfer the bottom edge of the holder (furthest from the roller) to stop it touching the stone when sharpening at 30°.

I have a fair few chisels which over time I've just thrown in a tool bag and the blades have dulled to make them pretty much useless. I bought this as I could do with sharpening up some blades instead of buying new chisels. I wasn't expecting to be able to get them super sharp considering the state of them It took a long time but the results are great. I would recommend using a bench grinder to get any chips out of the edge but this does a good job putting a nice cutting edge back on my chisels. The guide is easy to use and super sturdy too. The stone seems to take material off quite well although I would like to see a higher grit included in addition to 400 and 1000 as I think I could easily get a mirrored edge with a bit of elbow grease. You can see the state of the chisel I used in the picture and I think the edge has come up pretty well. You can see score marks from the stone so I will look for a new stone with a smoother finish to get my blades as sharp as possible. Overall, a great investment to keep chisels and blades sharp

I’d like it a bit longer, too easy to run off the end on the return stroke. Does put a nice edge on though. The paper angle guide won’t last long but any DIYer should be able to transfer the markings to the plastic cover. All in all I’m glad I bought it but think it was a bit too pricey for that set up

As expected, the product arrived on time, in great condition and well packaged. I used it today for the first time on three Stanley chisels from one of the big box stores. They have never been sharpened before so this was a bit of a challenge with sap, dirt and chips out of the cutting edge on each of the 1/2', 3/4', 1' blades. I did 40 passes on 1/2 the stone due to the projection of the blade from the holder, then rotated the stone and did another 40 passes. I hope this produces even wear on the diamond surface. Repeated this three times on each of the surfaces and ended with a gleaming, even, sharp, clean edge. Used them chisel out a small surface for a utility hinge on a simple home made box. Lovely outcome. I purchased this specific item because of a review of a different guide by another writer who noticed that the his roller did not spin and developed a flat spot on first use. this holder appears to have different type of bearing. it rotates smoothly and cleans easily. It may not be stainless steel and it may not have all the other bells and whistles. I am a home hobbyist, DIY user. My needs are quite different from a professional user. Yes I would by again.

Well engineered, grips the blade well every time, smooth rolling action. Would recommend.

Wer etwas noch Stabileres will, muss wohl einfach bereit sein, mehr zu zahlen.
