These seem to be very precisely sized per the description. I got two and they're both 4-1/2" long, and that's fine. I love accuracy! It's hard to visualize the size of anything based on measurements so I'm often a bit surprised; but I appreciate when sellers list dimensions (they don't always). Might be a little small for smudging. I like them for ring and 'stuff' holders.

Large beautiful real shell I use when I smudge my house or if I just want to burn some sage. Price and quality are the best

I should pay more attention to measurements…this is way too small for smudging. It is pretty, but not as described.

"Large"? The shell is no bigger than the palm of my small hand!! What a waste of money that is? Like many people I planned to use it to hold a sage wand for smudging... my wands are almost twice as big as the shell!

Nice sturdy shells. Arrived unbroken or chipped.

I bought this for a friend's birthday gift. She has it on her desk for display with her smudges in it.
