HORI PS5 Fighting Stick Alpha Tekken 8 Edition

Been thinking of buying a arcade stick for a while for fighting games, after buying Tekken 8 it was a no brainer, this looks awesome, only tried it for a hour but Tekken 8 is great on it and tried capcom classics on it ghost and goblins is great with the stick, takes me back to my childhood in the old 80s arcades, very happy with the purchase and a good price too 😊

Played fighting games for years for tekken 8 release i wanted the the nostalgia of using a fightstick again worth the money and great quality

Been using the Stick for 3+ weeks now & can say the Stick doesn't feel anyway Premium like the original SF4 T.E stick with Sanwa buttons. One of the buttons is not responsive 100% of the time, it drops input while I'm playing SF6, I contacted Hori UK and they asking me for proof of purchase, any physical damage, have I tried other fighting games, which button is it, have I connected it to a PC/another console, update the firmware, recorded a video for them to see the issues. Etc.... And they finally say contact Amazon for a product replacement, over a button 😆🤣🤫 I dunno why they couldn't just send out a replacement button. Instead of me returning the whole thing 🕹️🎮 Anyway, the stick felt more like cheap 3D printed plastic block, the design of how the wire is wrapped around 2 hinges hooks inside the unit without a breakout adaptor (incase it needs a new wire replaced) isn't available. And it's just thread through a rectangle letter box at the front looks so ugly in design. The quality isn't as premium feel like the Sanwa T.E sticks unfortunately And the way u open up the control panel by lifting up 1 side and it like rotating on a Pringle circular curve 🪝 is very odd 😂🤔 Whoever designed this stick has no idea how Pro player take their Fight Stick to tournaments 😁🫣 I think they just wanted to design a stick with the least amount of material. R.R.P of £229.99 is a rip off, even at discount price for £179.99 is overpriced, the original SFIV T.E was £150. Looking at the price today 4.4.2024 its going for £164.99...hmmmm its getting cheaper and cheaper.... I definitely wouldn't recommend this stick as a Tekken fan, I grew up when the original PlayStation came out and had to import it with that Street Fighter Movie 🎥 game and when Tekken first came out on console too. I doubt I will be buying HORI products again & probably gonna return it before my coolong off period ends.

Solid entry stick. Nice weight, easy to mod if you want and a good size. This is my third alpha, I have the SF6 edition and the Xbox SX edition. I got this one because Tekken is my favorite fighting game. So I’m using this as a display to go along with my Jin statue. I don’t plan on opening it. If you can find these for under $200, close to the sub $150 range then you’ll be happy.

Pros: Best part of this stick is its direct plug and play with the PS5. The buttons feel responsive and have been standing up to use. Super easy to change the buttons, joystick and artwork. The 3.5mm headset adapter located on the side works great and the tournament lockout switch works amazing. Cons: The first big con is going to be the price. I got an absolute bargain at $161 for this stick. If I was to pay $280 I would be probably be a lot more judgemental about it. The Lollipop style joystick which I changed to the “Bat top” style, just personal preference. The actual joystick itself has a larger dead zone than a Sanwa JLF. My final gripe is based on the colour way of this particular version of the stick. The Tekken 8 stripes on either side do not come off easily and the lower portion of the stick is pink, this is 100% personal and if you already like how the stick looks, it will not be a setback to you. Final thoughts, On sale, dollar for dollar this is one of the best deals on an in home arcade experience. The ability to change out to higher quality parts later and with ease is for sure a selling point because everything breaks sooner or later.
