No more coffee in the grouphead. Even shower dispersion. Easy to clean. Give it 10 Stars!
This has perhaps the perfect thickness for clean espresso shots. I also have the Normcore 1.7mm puck screen. It takes more work to properly clean that one. Both work fine. The grouphead does not get any coffee in it anymore. A simple rinse gets the 0.8mm like new clean. Bottomless portafilter shots are consistently perfect. The WDT tool is most responsible for that, though.

Works!
Works great. Keeps my machine clean, is easy to clean and puck comes off the portafilter very easily. So easy that I don't even need to knock it to get it off.

Solid puck screen
This screen saved my bottomless portafilter shots and works amazing. Great durability and easy to clean. Fits my 58mm portafilter no problem and the center circle is perfect for my gaggia classic GT.

The Puck Screen That’s Got Serious Espresso Skills (Just Not for My Setup)
I gave the Normcore 58.5mm Puck Screen a whirl, hoping it would bring my espresso game to the next level. It’s well-made, durable, and impressively thin at 0.8mm—perfect for adding that extra touch of finesse to extraction. And let me tell you, this little metal filter is like espresso magic in a disc form. In action, it worked great! My shots were more consistent, and cleanup was way easier with that added layer. But, as much as it upped my coffee game, it wasn’t quite the right fit for my setup. Whether it was the pressure balance or my particular machine’s quirks, I couldn’t get it to align with my usual espresso routine. So, it’s back to the basics for me. If your machine can handle a puck screen and you’re looking to level up your espresso shots, this is a fantastic little upgrade. For me, though, it was just a temporary guest in my coffee corner. It’ll be missed—by my espresso shots more than anything!

Much better than 0.8mm version
I started my puck screen journey when they first became popular, using a thick wire mesh screen. I liked how it kept my group cleaner, but I hated that it took up so much headspace - I had to reduce my dose by around a gram to accommodate the thickness of the screen. I few months ago I switched to Normcore's 0.8mm screen. I hated it. It didn't distribute water evenly through its honeycomb structure, leaving marks on the top of the puck beneath the holes. And yes, I had the screen right side up, with the side with the holes facing up into the group. The 0.8mm screen was was also hard to remove after brewing. I love this 0.2mm screen. It gives perfectly even water distribution. It is easily removed using suction from your palm. Although very thin, it is also quite rigid, and I expect it to hold up well with wear.

Works like a charm
Very pleased. Not much to say, it keeps the grounds off the group head and I think helps with the water distribution. Tough to get out after pulling a shot, but I found that pushing down on one edge pretty easily pops up the other side and then it comes right out.

Surprisingly good
I thought that a pick screen would be an added irritant to the coffee workflow and that I’d stop using it after a while. But I’ve surprised myself and learned to love it. I have the impression that it helps keep the group head clean. But also makes it easier to clean/empty the basket after a shot. Try it, these aren’t expensive.

This puck screen has been an excellent addition to my espresso workflow. Although it is the first one I have tried, I am impressed by the difference it makes to the extraction process. The screen distributes water evenly over the coffee bed, which helps to prevent channeling and results in a more balanced and consistent shot. I have noticed that the puck remains more cohesive after brewing, making it cleaner and easier to knock out. The build quality feels sturdy and well made, and it fits my 53.3 mm portafilter perfectly. The only minor challenge is removing the screen before knocking the puck into the box. This seems to be a common experience with puck screens in general rather than a flaw of this specific one, so it is more of a learning curve than a drawback. Overall, this tool has noticeably improved my espresso preparation. I would recommend it to anyone looking to achieve greater consistency in their shots and improve their overall coffee experience.
