Collection Men's Watch W-217H

The Casio F91w is a classic in the watch world, sold in the millions and previously worn by presidents and terrorists alike. However, if you have a larger wrist (mine is 7.5"), then it's a bit too small and can look like a kid's watch when worn. The Casio W217h is the bigger brother of that classic of the watch world, with a larger case and longer strap, but retaining the original retro styling of the F91w. In terms of features, minimalist is the word. It has time/day/date, then a single alarm setting, and stopwatch. You can set an hourly chime and choose between 24hr clock, and that's it. But isn't there something nice and simple about that in this day and age, as opposed to a smartwatch that does a million things and beeps endlessly with notifications and needs charging every day? Less is more sometimes, and this watch does everything you need it to. The display is clear with large digits, and the backlight is excellent, making the display glow orange in the dark, which is pretty cool. The styling is retro and though the F91w probably is slightly better looking overall due to it's slimness, this watch looks much better when worn than the photos suggest, so will grow on you. It's robust enough that you can use it as a daily beater without worrying about damaging it due to the low cost, and is so light you forget you are wearing it. I own a number of watches including more expensive ones, but this one ends up on my wrist the most and it can't be faulted for the money. The Casio B650 is the silver stainless steel version which I ended up buying too as I liked the design so much, and that is also an excellent choice if you want something slightly different.

A classic vintage style watch with a very readable screen. It looks like a 1980s eBay find, but is bang up to date with a good backlight and 50m water resist. The alarm is loud enough but no snooze. Everything is simple to use and its like a f91w for 2024. The gold trim looks really nice. I love it and I am a bit OCD about my watches. Alarm, 100th second stopwatch, hourly time signal, 12 or 24 hour display. Very light with reasonable strap. Buy it!

Great watch. Just as expected. A decent size for an adult to wear. The ‘illuminator’ light (bright orange) is really great in total darkness, making the whole screen very clear to read (attempted to take a photo, but hard to focus with one hand). The item also came with a User Guide booklet within the box which is helpful. I opted for this watch as it had the 50m water resist, so i can use it in the shower/swimming pool. Fits my wrist well (adult male), with about 5 more holes on the strap to use. Strap tucks neatly with a further strap ring. Great value.

DELIVERY: I received an email from a delivery company called EVRI, but thought it was a scam and didn't pay attention, this is a good few days before the delivery date of my Amazon order was stated and coming from America to UK, I did make the connection, but thought nothing else of it simply because I hadn't heard from Amazon themselves, perhaps the delivery date might have changed but I didn't go and check on Amazon myself. It's only on receiving another email today from EVRI and actually reading it that I saw pictures of a package round the back of my building since yesterday!! I've not heard anything at all from Amazon my item is simply checked as delivered with yesterdays date. I'm just a little surprised that I've not heard anything through Amazon via emails as they're usually great with the delivery updates. I'm just grateful I realised and it hasn't been taken or bad weather. Something for the UK buyers to be aware of. WATCH: Pros - The watch itself is lovely and has all the great basic presentation and functions that you're used to just with a bigger face and strap. The digits are even bigger than my current Casio I thought was big, so that's a pleasant surprise. The light up dials function isn't something I've seen in a positive screen, it's great and was in fact one of the reasons I purchased it. The box and casing of the packaging is different than I'm used to with an almost presentation stand feel to it. It makes me want to keep it hidden away just in case they stop making them! Cons - I'm slightly disappointed by the strap loop not having some form of stopping or limited ride up the strap the excess strap around your wrist might require constant adjustments, but I've just opened it with no days of experience living with it on my wrist, so I don't know. The strap concern is the only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars. CONCLUSION: It's nice enough to consider buying the other version. I'm keeping mine in the box, but I'm glad I own one even if it is in the draw for now.

If you have a bigger wrist and the F91-W looks tiny on it then this watch is basically just a bigger version. Apart from size the only real differences are a much better back light, 50m water resistance, and larger display digits. Case colours are the same but the button configuration is different although functions are identical to the F91-W. The strap is much longer on the W-217H, probably a good 1" or more longer and wider by about 2mm. Couldn't find this watch locally to me in the UK so had to get it from Amazon US and it was delivered 5 days earlier than quoted. A good watch if you want a slightly beefed up F91-W.

Classic, resin digital watch. This model is certainly worth the extra few quid over the F-91w. The case is larger, the strap more robust and the display much bigger and clearer. The back light is a vast improvement over it's cheaper cousin too being full, bright and even. A classic in it's own right and an excellent, budget watch. Good time keeper and comfortable to wear too. Recommended.
