Osprey Hydraulics Bite Valve Replacement

Works better than the original. The locking mechanism works so much better. Easier to just replace these then take them apart and clean

Osprey released this new style of bite valve in 2023 without any fanfare and now the old valves and replacement sheaths are not available. Fortunately, this new bite valve is superior to the old one, because you can operate the shutoff one-handed. I've heard that the valve lever can break off, and it looks like the small protrusion could get snagged. Maybe, but it's still better, and cheap and easy to replace, so I bought 3 of these valves and replaced all my old ones. A worthwhile upgrade.

Took a spill on the trails and landed chest-first on a rock with the mouth piece in between and shattered the part into pieces. Instead of purchasing an entire new bladder, I saw this part available and decided to try it out. Easy to install, perfect size, and was done in minutes. Great purchase.

My wife had a bite valve on her bladder for several years and she thought it was normal to pop an eye out of the socket when she was attempting to get water. By the way that's not normal this one is outstanding and it works exactly like it should.

great replacement valve for our osprey pack. The bladder itself is still in good condition but part of the valve broke. Happy to be able to replace just the valve.

My water bladder is on older model so I was wondering how this valve will fit. It does not go in fully. But it works perfectly and no leaks. One hand open close is very easy even with gloves on. Will definitely recommend.

Used it on two hikes, after replacing the previous one that came with the day pack, and broke after three uses, and this new one is broken as well again. They are simply not durable. The level to open/close the water flow broke on the first one. The entire housing cracked on the second one, making it completely unusable. At $10 a piece, I expect better quality and durability. I don’t have an option to return this one, which is super frustrating. I will not buy this again, and will instead look for alternatives from other manufacturers.
