Perfect Blue [DVD]

You will either love it or hate it. This is deep psycoligical thriller with amazing animation, voice acting and story. I watched this with my girlfriend we were both glued to the screen. It is terrifying on some levels and shows a side of celebrity lifestyle that would send chills down your spine. Everyscene opens up a new layer of plot and introduces scenarios that make you feel paranoid and confused. You end up feeling just a little insane wondering what is happening. The website and constant threats make Mima nervous and afraid of what she is becoming. Ends up losing her frigging mind you are left wondering who was responsible up until the very end you are dealt a swift punch to the gut. Everything wraps up in a bloody climax and its just chilling how messed up things can get. This was obviously exagerrated but for the most part its believable. Like watching a japanese britney spears on an acid trip (That aside britney spears shouldn't act ... ever!). I would call this a cult classic. Nothing in the anime world is as real and brutal as this. Giant robots and samurais just don't cut it (lol cut it). Being an anime fanboy I gotta say its been a while since I was this impressed not since End of Evangelion. If you are tossing around the thought of watching this I say watch it alone. Its not a family movie and for some parts with my girlfriend there and her mother you'll just end up feeling awkward. Seriously get a microwave dinner and kick back its the kind of movie you need to focus on. All in all I say give it a go.

Lovely anime from one of my favourite anime creators! The story is very movie.

Very good anime with an interesting storyline answer I really love the animations and art throughout the film.

Perfect Blue is a classic psychological thriller, just like Alfred Hitchock's thrillers of the past. The story is easy to follow, it does have some gore and violence, including an infamous stabbing scene, a mock rape scene and nude shots of our main character. The animation still looks great 20 years after it was released, and I really liked the twist at the end. Overall a classic anime film.

Thought no little anime film would ever affect me, phew but stayed with it to the end and it was well worth it. If you ever thought Japans culture was a bit different from the west then this will confirm it in spades but don't let that put you off. No this will take you on the most intense ride as Mima's career warps, twists and Satoshi Kon perhaps takes an reflective look at Japan itself. A really quite excellent executed thriller.

no more than ok

I simply adore this film. The plot is very easy to follow despite its cerebral nature. The computer scene is a little humorous these days ( a 20-year-old needing help to set up dial-up internet and learn to email is definitely a 90s thing) but that's the ONLY bad thing I can say about the film

This is a classic horror film, I had it on VHS and was pleased to find a copy on DVD. Not for the squeamish, but a great horror movie.

Prodotto arrivato entro i tempi previsti ed in ottime condizioni. Consiglio (probabilmente noto) a tutti gli amanti dell'animazione che abbiano voglia di godersi un buon thriller in una cornice inusuale come l'anime.

This was a very good anime . The characters and the animation were great . Highly recommended

Un coffret collector en édition limitée absolument splendide et pas si cher étant donnée la qualité et le soin apporté à l'emballage autant qu'au contenu: Coffret "strip tease" à l'érotisme certain lorsque l'on enlève le beau sur-étui semi-transparent et qu'on met à nu le coffret contenant un storyboard complet du film etun très beau livret regroupant des images d'exploitation, des croquis et recherches, l'art board des décors et une "master class": proposition de cours en trois soirée sur le film. Le DVD et le blu ray (magnifique !) du film incluent - outre un enregistrement très anecdotique du "tube" pop du film - le trailer japonais et deux entretiens, l'un avec Junko Iwao (pop star et actrice ayant doublé le film) et l'autre avec le réalisateur Satoshi Kon. Le tout pour moins de 38€, franchement, pas de foutage de gueule sur cette édition là ! D'autant que le film est vraiment excellent lui aussi. Mais ça, les fans le savent déjà...

Eine schöne Story. Es gab da Szenen wo ich dachte "was ist das denn jetzt wie kommt das?' Aber alles toll. Danach brauchte ich aber eine Kopfschmerz Tablette. Aber den schaue ich mir mit meinen Leuten noch an.
