After watching a lot of YouTube gardening tutorials I decided to try different methods I had seen and not heard of before and using alfalfa as a natural feed and growth stimulant really interested me. I always go into new ways of doing things with some scepticism and I wasn't seeing any UK reviews for what I planned to use the pellets for. I can honestly say I've never seen growth like it with scattering these pellets around my flower beds and on top of pots, it was totally unbelievable how big and lucious everything looked. I also made plant tea in collected rainwater which again was very very effective. I probably actually used too much this first time because it did also cause weeds to be pretty strong and healthy so I guess that is a downside that I know better for this year but I will be buying again and being a little less generous. The alfalfa pellets are very high in nitrogen so for stems and leaves it is amazing but it does need to be balanced out later on with phosphorus and potassium or you'll just end up with huge green plants and no flowers or fruiting veggies. I can 100% recommend using this little known fertilizer for wonderful crops and flowers, it also caused amazing growth when scattered around fruit trees so it is just gold to growers.

Alfalfa is commonly used as a rose feed in America,so three years ago I thought I would try it. I have a forty eight gallon capacity water butt to which I added twenty four pounds of the meal and left the mixture for four days and then poured the resultant tea over the forty or so plants I have. My roses flowered really well and repeated numerous times during the year. Only one springtime feed was needed each season so one twenty kilo bag lasts me about two years.

Top quality horse food....good option if you can't get to a farm store. Excellent feed mixed with Dengie Grass pellets and sugar free beet for old aging horse/especially good for native ponies. Alfalfa is a great addition for pregnant mares....used it a lot when I bred show shetlands.. low sugar, low starch but highly nutritious, high calorie and high fibre....make sure you soak the product well. It only requires 30 mins soaking. keeps my old Shetland Stallion in top condition over the harshest winter when fed with the grass pellets and sugar free beet. He loves his mash and knows what he likes...Dengie!!

Been using this as puppy litter for our 4 month old Labradoodle. It works really well.

Great as plant food as well

As litter I found this useless as puppies ate it, knocked it over and did anything other than go to the toilet in it.
