My last laptop died, I found out, likely because it was full of dust. Even though I kept it off soft surfaces, I think the open holes and not vacuuming enough did it in. So this time I bought these hole plugs which seem to work very well. Some are a tiny bit too big (the card slot) but I squish it in and it stays put. I also bought a small vacuum to help keep everything clean. I may never know unless I open up the case, but so far the plugs fit well and stay put.

Plugs seemed to hold into the sockets well and they have not fallen out yet. I have used these for exterior items that need to stop from getting corroded from salty air. Good section of different types

They work, very small you need a Tweeser to insrall some of them.
