Value for money if just for the taste
The taste was just as I remember it. This was when I was younger of course. But it still remains the same.

As always good
As always good, but very expensive, I could get them in my home town much cheaper but i am disabled and find it hard to get around. If you want to give yourself a good treat and don't mind the expense go for it you won't be disapointed

Truly revolting
I love cod roe, especially the pressed prepared roe,(ready to eat or fry in batter,on toast or heated anyway you wish),beware, this is cod roe not eggs from the female but the male parts!!! I tried frying it and eating a tiny nibble, obviously I'm not cooking it right however it looks, cooks and tastes like what it is .Absolutely disgusting.

Found them at last!
Great cod rows. They're hard to find in the shops, so I'm pleased to be able to get them on Amazon. Delicious fried gently in butter and served on toast

Soft cod roe is cod milt, not just cod roe processed differently. I did not know this when I ordered the product. This is nothing like tarako from Japanese cod roe pasta or tube cod roe like Kalles Kaviar. That being said, this stuff is lightly ocean-y in flavor and fluffy in texture. A little like uni, but not as rich. It smells much fishier than it actually tastes. I had it straight out of the tin on toasted bread with some salt and pepper. It definitely needed the salt. I'm not about to order a ton of these but it was certainly interesting. Considering trying to make pasta with the remaining tin or just eating it on today too.

Drain Roe, lightly flour chopping board and light coat roe in flour. Heat tbs butter until bubbling. Add roe to pan cook 5 mins medium heat then flip and repeat. Serve on buttered toast, cracked black pepper and Maldon sea salt flakes. Delish

If you thought you were buying this Cod Fish Roe, thinking similarly to the Japanese Cod Fish Roe, you'll find it wrong. So if you want to eat Mentaiko, buy it from the Japanese market or the dealer. It comes in a Pate form that is tasteless, the color reminded me of that gray matter from the brain. I know it's harsh but it was not what I was hoping for. I still have an unused can in the drawer. I think this is for people who is used to eating this with crackers. It's not for me. Least I tried two teaspoon from an open can adding siracha.

One of my favorite comfort treats. Don't know why they seem to be almost unknown in the US. Never see them sold fresh at fish stores - I wonder what they do with them?

One of my favourite suppers when a child. It is absolutely delicious on hot buttered toast. I wonder if the negative reviews are maybe because they were expecting the hard roes - eggs, rather than the soft ones. I also love the hard roes, but these are the best!
