Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: A must for every aspiring camera artist. - One rarely sees a book that inspires like this one. I have been a photographer for half a century. I have to say most of these images surpass my ability by a long shot. Not only are the images inspiring, they are further enhanced by the thoughtful presentation. The last book to offer similar inspiration was Brian Brake's New Zealand Gift of the Sea first published in 1963. It is difficult to highlight images. But the silver birch reflection by Mark Littlejohn is an early eye stopper. Damian Shields catches a brilliant image in The Annunciation. That one reminds me of what I saw when cycling the Scottish Highlands in 2006. Andy Tibbetts adds another great Scotland view with his Cloud Glacier. Sarah Canton offers inspiration with her Snowden Horseshoe from the Glyders. This is one of several inclusions the photographer set out with a monochrome result in mind. Each photo is accompanied by a well-penned description of how it came about. A section lists the photographers and their equipment. Intriguing is the fine line between a highly commended and outright winner. No doubt viewers will have their own opinions. This edition presents the ninth year of the Landscape competion. All entries have been taken in Britain. They demonstrate that Britain is far from being the boring country it is sometimes perceived to be in far-off former Colonies. Interestingly I discovered this book because I am a subscriber to The Royal Geographical Society's Geographical magazine. I have not been with the book for long. I am sending it off for my son's birthday. He is an aspiring photographer with a good eye. Hopefully it will inspire him to achieve what was just beyond me. Review: I've been following the series since about volume 5 and I'm delighted to say that - Another inspirational Landscape Photographer of the Year book. Far more than merely a "coffee table" publication, I find my self moved not only by the pictures themselves but by the evident passion of the photographers. I've been following the series since about volume 5 and I'm delighted to say that, if anything, the quality of the work submitted is getting better and better. Particularly enocuraging is the quality of the junior photographers - Mairi Eyres "Through A Water Droplet" assures me that the future of photography is in capable hands. I bought my copy from one of desertcart's merchants for £14.95 delivered - I consider that great value.

Inspiration in a book
Sometimes photography is the only means by which you can replicate the wonders of this fragile planet of ours. It never fails to amaze me how the photographers that have taken these images have the vision to take what they do. Sometimes they are just plain lucky to be in the right place at the right time. Sometimes they result from sheer genius. My only regret is that there is no similar collection of books covering macro photography because some of the macro art images are simply stunning. If you are looking for inspiration then look no further than these books (and of course the garden photography collection which are just as good).

Repeats
It is a beautifully presented book, with some stunning photos, however having collected most of the previous yearly Collections there is concern that we are getting many repeats, although from different photographers. This year we have 5 views of Skye, 2 of Bat's Head, 2 of Teesside with smoking chimneys, 3 aerial views of parked cars/containers, 2 of tree trunks with lichen and Hove which was a winning shot in a previous year. This is without questioning the shot of campers outside their yurt, which surely is stretching the term 'Landscapes' As much as I would like to see these yearly Collections continue, I do think the Judges have to widen their scope, or is it there are not enough entries to fill a book!

My only disappointment is that there are not more pictures from women ...
Inspirational Images. A truly sensational collection from a variety of venues urban as well as rural. A fitting follow up to Collection 8 As an amateur enthusiast it will be a source of motivation to get out there on more occasions and in more challenging conditions. My only disappointment is that there are not more pictures from women and that there is only one woman on the panel of judges. Come on ladies we can do it.
