Simple, Natural Way to Freshen the Air
These ceiling fan air purifier pads are a great idea and work surprisingly well. They’re easy to attach and start making a difference quickly. I like that they use activated coconut shell carbon, it feels like a more natural way to help freshen the air. They help reduce odors and keep the room smelling cleaner without being overpowering.

Game-Changer!
Game-Changer for Allergies & Busy Homes Kudos to the creator of the Barnakl Ceiling Fan Filters—these have truly made a noticeable difference in our home. I originally purchased these because my children struggle with allergies, especially during the spring and fall seasons. One of my daughters even has asthma triggered by her allergies, so I’m always looking for ways to improve our air quality. We already use air purifiers, high-end HVAC filters, and daily allergy medications—but like many busy families, consistently dusting ceiling fans just isn’t realistic. I was honestly skeptical at first, but after using these filters for about a year (we replace them every 60 days using Amazon auto-ship), I can confidently say they work. The amount of dust and debris they collect is shocking—and reassuring. It’s clear they’re capturing more than just visible dust. One of the biggest differences I’ve noticed is the air itself. When sunlight comes through our windows, there are significantly fewer dust particles floating around. Even more importantly, my kids’ allergy symptoms have improved. Installation is simple, maintenance is easy, and the peace of mind is worth it. I personally prefer the unscented version, but there are scented options available as well. If you’re looking for a low-effort way to improve air quality—especially in a home with allergies—these are absolutely worth trying.

Filter the air
It’s a good product that it collects and holds the dust that is floatingthrough the air. The one problem that I find with it is the sticky Velcro is not wood fan blade compatible. As you see in my picture, it rips off the layer of coding. I suggest just keeping the Velcro connected to the blade and just changing out the pad.

Fresh Air, Easy Install — My Take on Barnakl Ceiling Fan Filters
I recently installed the Barnakl ceiling fan filters infused with activated coconut charcoal, and the difference in air quality has been surprisingly noticeable. The installation was quick and painless—just pop them onto the fan grilles, and you’re done. No need for tools or dismantling anything, which is a huge bonus for someone like me who wanted a hassle-free setup. Within a few days, I started to notice a cleaner, crisper feel in the air—even in rooms that usually get stale or stuffy. The charcoal does a solid job of absorbing odors and airborne impurities, making the space feel more naturally fresh without pumping in artificial scents. Our pet room has especially benefited; the typical “doggy” smell has softened significantly. Performance-wise, they don’t block airflow or make the fan feel sluggish—just quietly doing their thing in the background. The coconut charcoal fabric feels good quality too—firm, yet breathable. One pack lasts several months before needing a swap, so it’s low maintenance. If I had to pick on something, I’d mention that the filters aren’t labeled by expiration date, so I just set a calendar reminder. But that’s a small deal compared to the cleaner air we’ve got now. Bottom line? These Barnakl filters are a simple upgrade that made our home feel fresher without any hassle—highly recommend if you want improved air quality and odor control with zero fuss.

Air flow problem
I like the idea of this product but I've encountered a poor air flow issue upon installation. There's a disruption of the camber of the blades reducing the air flow and defeats the whole purpose of having a ceiling fan. If you're a pilot, think about icing buildup on a prop or wings and you'll get my point. My ceiling fan has five blades. Should I have used 3 instead of all 5? Yes, I removed 2 of them and there was improvement but the flow was still reduced and on a 3 speed setting, 1 and 2 were useless. The idea is great but maybe a cambered edge or frame to insert the filter can solve the air flow problem? Any aero engineers out there to improve this?

Works!
I was skeptical that this could work but decided to buy it. I installed these about 3 weeks ago on my living room ceiling fan. I’m amazed! No dust in the room! Before I did this it would be dusty every day. I’m a fan of these!

Decent
They really do pick up a lot. Not sure if it’s “cleaning” the air as much as it’s just collecting it on the pad instead of the fan blade or my small room. I guess the charcoal does clean the air in a sense, but I’m not sure how much. Hard to find concrete data on their website

TOTAL JOKE!
I had these attached to my ceiling fan and ran it every day, all day for two months. Today I decided to inspect the surface which is supposed to catch all kinds of nasty things in the air thus 'cleaning your breathing space'. WHAT A JOKE. Before I climbed up to inspect, I eyeballed the fan blades and could see a collection of dust, lint, etc. along the 'EDGES' of the fan blade! As I climbed up on a stool to look closer, the dust/junk had collected on the Edges Only, and when even slightly jarring the fan this garbage came tumbling down onto the table and myself! I had to wipe each edge of the five fan blades carefully to remove the rest of the accumulated junk (which this product was supposed to collect). When I got up to where I could see and inspect the pads, "THERE WAS NOTHING AT ALL ON THESE 'CARBON FILTER PADS'? I mean NOTHING. So I peeled off the black pad (also had to peel the under strip which holds the pad), and there was NO DUST, LINT, ETC. Even after shaking it, NOTHING CAME OFF, which means after two full months of running my fan all day, these so called 'fan filters' collected nothing except my money! How anyone can manufacture such a 'joke' and then sell it as a legitimate item is shameful! Of course I can't get a refund because the maker advises to leave them on for a few months, thus nullifying any chance of returning them. DO NOT BUY. DO NOT BUY.

I have a central air system but it doesn't reach the basement so it gets dusty there pretty quickly. Luckily I have a ceiling fan down there and, installing these on the blades, it made such a big difference! I didn't realize how much dust they actually removed until I checked on them after a week. Definitely a lot more than the HEPA filter on my central unit in the same time. Maybe my basement was more dusty than I realized but I'm really glad I got these!

Works better than assumed.

We have popcorn ceilings in our bedroom and the popcorn seems to be falling off leaving us constantly cleaning and dusting up the mess. This is the only room where this is happening and is the only room with a ceiling fan. I bought these to see if it would help reduce the dusty mess. So far so good. We are seeing a lot less dust on the surfaces of our bedroom. Fingers crossed they last long enough to make them a viable long term option.

Unreal how these add a huge difference to collecting dust in a room! Have them in three bedrooms and love!

Not sure these really work. You have to leave your fan turned on all the time to reap any benefit.
