How do I make the top stay on when hanging? Am I missing something?

There is a black metal latch under the lid that snaps on to a black metal ball. It stays on tight.

Is there a way to add more light to the feeder? Lile replace the internal light string with something that has more bulbs?

You would need to rebuild the entire unit with a larger solar array and contact battery port wires in order to increase the light output you want... The power unit can only handle the light output energy it’s currently engineered to put out... You can’t just swap out lights on a string for brighter lights... You need more power storage and battery for more light output...
