Great set for quick repairs!
Great product. I purchased this tap set to do a repair on my underground sprinkling system. I had a breakage of a nipple in a pvc tee. I was able to clear the broken threads, but had to chase the threads to insert a new pvc nipple for the new sprinkler head. This set performed very well. It will remain in my parts box!

Take your time and use a tapping ratchet.
I’ve used the 3/8 and 1/4 to tap new threads for v style air hose couplings in aluminum blocks. If you take your time and clean out the shavings, you will get great results. It’s a great value for the money. The photo shows the results of tapping a 1/4 NPT thread up to a 3/8 size NPT fittings.

Fixed my leaky water heater
High quality and fixed the drain fitting leak on my gas water heater. So I went to replace the small angled drain valve on the hot water heater with a new ball valve so I could do annual cleanout maintenance. Well what seemed like a quick swap turned into a multi-day ordeal. The new 3/4" ball valve didn't seem to thread in far enough and despite teflon tape and a giant pipe wrench and my super-human strength (yeah right) the new valve would not stop leaking. After draining the tank again I was able to sumise that the factory had done a lousy job of threading the tank fitting and misthreaded the original and my first replacement. After re-threading and further threading the second replacement valve didn't shed a drip - bone dry, finally!

It’s a nice set if they don’t earn you your living. For the average person this set will last a lifetime and bail out a buddy or two.
