The faceplate is super easy to install. There is no wiring involved because it just snaps into place replacing the original hunter faceplate. There are videos online that show you how it is done. Using the app you program your zones and can give them meaningful names like “backyard”. When testing the system upon startup in the spring no more walking to the controller to turn on each zone to test it. Just do it from the app. Connect the controller to the internet and your personal sensors and it will monitor all local weather stations and your sensors to adjust the amount of water in a given watering. The app also gives reports on your water usage. If you have a contractor managing your irrigation system this unit allows them to remotely monitor your system and make any adjustments. I’ve had this system for a couple months now and love it - no issues to report. I think it is worth the investment.

My original system that came with the house worked perfectly until the lcd failed and I could no longer program it. This unit was a perfect replacement for my old analogue unit. Easy install and programming. The Wi-Fi connection and app control make programming very easy. I’m using 20-30% less water due to the weather sync feature. This upgraded my analogue system easily and for around $200 and my diy install, I not only saved the service call, I can add at least $2500 onto the value of the house just by including “Wi-Fi controlled and monitored automated landscape irrigation system”. I highly recommend if you have an older version and need to upgrade.

The panel took seconds to install. Super easy! One minor fault is that the panel seems a bit more loose in the hinges than the original, but I rarely open the panel so it’s fine. I connected it quickly to our wifi and installed the app on my phone. In just a few minutes I had it programmed and scheduled. I really like the intelligence of the app - it waters down more or less based on my local weather. It seems to work very well. And being able to see the water history by zone is great - it tells me if it watered more because it was hot or less because we had rain or it was cool. And it has an automatic setting for gardens different than established lawns. Totally worth it to easily bring my existing watering system online and controllable from my phone. Would definitely purchase again!

Like a lot of reviewers, I found the installation of the unit itself was very easy. And despite some mixed reviews on the Android app, I've been very happy with it. It was also pretty easy to set up, connect to wifi and get things initially configured. With a little playing around, I found most of the functions rather intuitive, including setting up each zone, watering schedules, times, etc -- and even tapped into the connection to local weather to help reduce unnecessary watering when there's a chance of rain (or rained recently) -- which also seems to work well. Overall, it offers the features and experience I have been looking for to really have home automation for watering my lawn and no longer having to deal with running back and forth to the controller, and also able to manage the system remotely when I'm traveling. The only thing we regret is how long we waited to upgrade to this panel. Worth every penny, and easy to do.

**Review of Irrigation Controller** I recently upgraded from my old manual irrigation controller, which I could never figure out how to program, to this new model from the same company, and I couldn’t be happier! Initially, I thought I would need to overhaul my whole system, but this new controller was designed as an easy swap, and they weren't kidding. The installation was a breeze—literally took me 15 seconds. All I had to do was unplug the wire from my old controller, undo a button, press another to release the hinge, and the new controller snapped right into place. After that, I just plugged the wire back in, and it was ready to go. Connecting the controller to my Wi-Fi was also super simple. That said, I do agree with some other reviews that the buttons are tiny, and I accidentally pressed the wrong ones a few times when entering my Wi-Fi password, but it’s a small issue in the grand scheme of things. The app that comes with this controller is fantastic and very user-friendly, with a high rating of 4.8 stars in the App Store. I was able to test all my zones, take pictures of them, and store those images in the app, which makes identifying each zone so much easier. Now I can just look at a picture and know exactly what area I’m dealing with. If you have an older irrigation system, especially a Hunter model, I highly recommend this controller. I can't believe I waited this long to make the switch—this controller has completely transformed how I manage my yard!

Highly recommend this if you have an older PRO-C panel, setup was very easy and now I can control/monitor the system from my cell phone. Wish every upgrade was this easy, great product Hunter.
