As advertised, smooth and quiet
I have no experience with a machine like this, but I have a bad ankle and can't walk for exercise like I used to. And I just don't like gyms. So I need something for a full body workout. Did I mention that I'm 71 years old? So this looked like a really good, inexpensive option. First, it was well packaged. Assembly was easy, but I suggest that you use your own tools if you have them. Took about 30 minutes start to finish. I'm 6' 1" and a big guy, and the machine fits me quite well. As advertised, it's smooth, quiet, and user friendly. The mechanism is very smooth and the seat is comfortable enough, but certainly not cushy. So I'm very happy for the price, and I'm hopeful that this is the answer to getting a good workout and losing some weight. The machine will do, the rest is up to me.

Excellent value, well made rower. Early problem resolved.
UPDATE: Customer service was excellent and responded quickly to send a replacement seat and rollers, which resolved the problem. This company clearly cares about their customers and will make sure you have a product you are happy with. I’ve updated my star rating to 5, as the rowing machine now functions perfectly. It is well made, smooth, quiet, and a great addition to our home gym. Let’s see how long it lasts, but so far this is well worth the price tag. EARLIER REVIEW: Very disappointed - just assembled this brand new rowing machine and the seat is not gliding properly. It appears to be sticking / grinding on the metal rail. We have assembled everything meticulously according to the instructions and the Yosuda chat bot on their website told me to buy a new seat! Hoping a human customer service actually replies to my email and helps resolve this. If so, I will update my review to 5 stars, because otherwise it seems very well made and robust.

Great rower!!
I really like the rower, the way it works and the design of it. It seems sturdy and easy move around. Unfortunately it is not for guys or girls that are in the 6 feet or above range. Also assembling it was a pretty easy and quick process of 20 to 30 minutes.

Works very well at its price point.
I've had the machine for about 11 months now, and am happy with the performance. I believe I probably have over 50,000 strokes on it by now so it has gotten a fair test. I'm not certain of the total stokes on it cuz the overall total rolls over at 10,000. It's done that a number of times now. Was not difficult to set up. I initially noted some clicking noises while rowing and isolated these to the place where the main rail joined to the front frame. A small piece of cardboard (like the back of a note pad) helped to silence that. I also tinkered with the seat stop near the front of the main rail. I found that I would bottom out on this and did not care for the clack when the seat would hit the rubber stop. Inititally I added a small piece of foam cushion (headliner from an apholstery project) to the front of the seat where it hit the bumper. That had mixed results. I eventually removed the rubber "button" bumper altogether and added a foam rubber cushion about 3/4" square to the stationary spot where the seat can hit it at the bottom of the stroke. This had the benefit of allowing the seat to come about 3/4" closer to the wheel which I liked because it allows you to scrunch yourself closer to the wheel at the start of the stroke. Seemed to feel appropriate to me and is quieter this way with very little impact at the bottom of the stroke. The seat is OK but I sometimes fold a bath towel and add that as an additional cushion. The machine is quiet and has stayed that way. It does not have any "entertainment" as the display is just basic parameters of stroke count, time, pace (strokes per minute) and calorie count. I think that the calorie count is a very simple function of strokes as it shows exactly 200 calories at 1400 strokes. I'm not sure it is sensitive to the load setting or your pace. I kind of doubt it but I don't care. I don't watch the display, but have the unit faced towards a TV and generally watch something that engages me to keep going. You can get a pretty good workout in the last hour of the original Die Hard. That keeps you from constantly looking at your stroke count and thinking "Oh crap. I'm only half way to my goal...". Bottom line is this thing does what is says it does and for a rather modest price compared to some of the wind and water versions, and it's quiet enough to accommodate Bruce Willis movies, ...or even Hallmark or Nicholas Sparks if you are so inclined.

Great Rower easy setup and solid workout
Put this together by myself in under an hour, no problem at all. The build quality feels sturdy and smooth, and I really like the water resistance. I filled it to the max level and it gives the perfect pull for a tougher workout. It stores upright easily when I’m done, so it doesn’t take up much space in my personal gym. The app is a nice bonus too, you can track your progress or even race other people, which keeps things interesting. Overall, really happy with it. Feels like something I’ll actually stick with long-term.

Good machine, app is okay
Easy to put together, easy to use and it gives a good workout. The most annoying part though (and I wouldn’t have bought it if I had realized) is it’s a little frustrating it doesn’t give a split time, pace by 500m in meters or a few other key things you normally see on a rowing machine. The pace numbers is in feet/500m and sometimes I'm pretty sure it is just throwing out random numbers for fun. The pace gauge is also extremely wonky. If you take a break, the timer does stop but it takes a while for it to get it back together. It gives you some crazy numbers. You can do the math to do the split time so not the end of the world. The app is free which is nice but these couple of things make it kind of frustrating and hard to track your work out in progress. If you don’t know what any of that means and just want a good piece of exercise equipment. Something that seems durable, easy to put together and not so expensive that you don’t have to worry about your kids around it then I give it 5 stars.

I did loads of research to find this rower. I looked at quite a few of the super expensive ones, but did not want to pay a monthly fee for the classes those other brands offer. Also, I am new to rowing so I didn't want to put a lot of money into this in case I didn't like it. I'm just under 5' and this is just a tiny bit too big for my legs to get to the completely perpendicular position at the start of the stroke, so I pulled out the pin that stops the seat, added a tiny bit of padding to the joint further up, and it works great now. (I'm making that point specifically for other shorties out there). It's quiet and easy to move and was very simple to put together. The screen isn't all that fancy, but it counts time and distance just fine (and some other things like calories, etc.) If you are interested in rowing, especially if you don't have a lot of space, this is a really good item. I've already recommended it, in person, to someone else.

Got this yesterday and tried it today with the following thoughts. Pros: 1. great workmanship. the machine is pretty well built. can't say about the electronic parts as it's only been two days, but otherwise the machine is very solid. 2. very compact and lightweight. I live in apartment. so this is very important. 3. quiet. at the normal speed around 22-26 strokes, the foot pedal makes louder noise than the big wheel. 4. great app and hardware integration. I downloaded the app and pair it with my iphone and apple watch all together. now I can use watch as real time heartbeat sensor, iphone front camera as optical sensor and display everything on the phone screen. It's extremely help to see the data to make sure I can maintain target heart rate and good stroke speed during the entire workout. it would be perfect if the app can support watch with ipad, but that's not machine's issue. Cons: 1. installation. video only is outdated with the first set of screw installation being completely different from what's in the paper manual. Same goes for the parts and part numbers as they changed. In the manual, some minor mistakes on how the flat washer and spring washer should be stacked. one place said it correctly, then the others said it differently which was wrong. 2. not enough resistance. I am not a big strong guy(5'9", 158lbs), but I am starting all the way with 16 the max. It's good enough for cardio fat lost and endurance I believe, but not good enough for strength. 3. I bought the more expensive 02-magnetic pro version, but at the front of the wheel, it's missing a pad at the front which gives it two options to store the machine. With the pad, I can store the machine upright without having to folder it which actually uses less space than folding it. The cheaper 01-magnetic rower does have that.
