This is a fine rope. Leather is always better, but this rope works fine IF you make sure the weights are BENEATH the springs in the handle. I had the same tangling problem because I had removed the weights and put one of them on top of the spring, which is incorrect. This causes the end of the rope and swivel fitting not to move freely, and the rope twists and becomes tangled. Great way to add some weight training to a running and calisthenics workout.

Pretty cheap plastic handles. This was broken in after about 3 minutes of use. The piece of metal is too heavy for the thin plastic handles. Drop a handle and its bye bye! Not worth returning these for the price, so I just super glued the broken plastic and then sent an inch of Shoe Goo down each handle before dropping the weight back into the handle. Hopefully this holds everything together as one piece the next time it slips out of my hand. Otherwise, it seems to function OK.

been having a hard time adjusting the cord back into the handle to make it shorter but I'm just tall enough so that the full length works well with just one finger wrap around. Took the weights out and it works well otherwise. It needs breaking in before it gets loose and easier to swing.

its great, and the weight is perfect, but after a week something got dettached and now i hear/feel a slight something whenever i jump rope without headphones on

The handles are comfortable enough, but my fondness for this jump rope ends there. The handles are a remarkable cheap plastic, I dropped one the second time I used the jump rope and the bottom of the thing shattered. I don't blame Valeo for my clumsiness, but I expect a product to stand up to normal wear and tear. The handle of a jump rope is going to fall a few feet now an again, and a weighted jump rope should have really sturdy handles in order to prevent damage.Also, the metal clamps that are used to adjust the rope aren't super awesome. Make sure you have two decent pairs of pliers on hand and get the sizing right the first time. They don't give extra clamps with the rope and my experiences with metal - I'm a glass and metal sculptor - tell me that they'll break right in two if you aren't careful.Please, don't buy. If you do, take care about dropping.

I love this jump rope, it's the perfect weight for everyday cardio training. They rope itself was a little to long for me (and i'm 5'9) but it was extremely easy to tighten the rope using the included instructions. I would definitely recommend this product.

Great rope! The soft foam handles really make it more comfortable while exercising.
