A good choice for this first time trail camera user
This is my first trail camera and so far I am impressed with it. I got it so I could see what wildlife I may be missing in my backyard, especially after dark. I often see deer and turkeys and I hear coyotes howl at night, though I never see them during the day. I've had the trail camera for about a month and I'm happy with the results. I initially watched a couple of YouTube videos for recommendations for the camera settings to use. I found it easy to use the camera menu to adjust the settings to where I wanted them. I set it up for video recording and did a few trial runs using myself walking past the camera to trigger it. I did find that with the video resolution set to 4K I got inconsistent results. Sometimes the video was captured and other times there was an error message rather than a video. I theorized that the memory card installed in the camera might not be fast enough to keep up with the amount of data generated at 4K resolution, so I changed the resolution to 1080p. At 1080p the video has worked every time, and there have been no more error messages. I set up the camera in my back yard and the very first night I got two videos of a doe and her fawn browsing in my lawn and bushes. The videos were taken shortly after midnight and the quality was very good. The next day I moved the camera down near the creek that runs through the woods behind my house. Over the next couple of weeks, the camera captured the doe and her fawn again during the daytime with really excellent video quality. It also captured a large 9-point whitetail buck that I had never seen in my backyard before. The video was taken at dusk so it looks more like a nighttime video with very good quality. At other times there were videos captured of deer and a red squirrel. It has rained A LOT since I got the camera and so far the interior has remained dry. Hopefully, it will continue to resist the rain this well going forward. Overall I am very happy with my first experience with trail cameras and would recommend this one to my friends and family. Update after a year of use: After writing my initial review I found that the camera did not remain waterproof after a the first couple months of use. I bought a "rain cover" for it, the cover looks like a visor that straps to the tree and keeps rain off the camera. Since using the rain cover for the last 9 or 10 months I have not had any issue with moisture getting into the camera, no matter how much it rains. Battery life has been fantastic, I just replaced the batteries for the first time after a full year of use. Where the camera is set up I only average about 1 video per day, so that may account for the long battery life. Given the low price and overall good performance, I'm still very happy with this camera despite the flaws that I've noted.

Great Camera for Backyard Wildlife Watching!
UPDATE: 12/27/2023 - We have had these cameras for several months now and I LOVE them! They have been by far the best trail cameras we have purchased yet to include the solar camera we tried. We adjusted our video settings to 20 second videos and 5 photo burst mode. We are now using LI-ION Rechargeable batteries and we are getting GREAT results! We may have to recharge the batteries every 3 weeks or so if that. We made sure to buy good quality rechargeables and we are slowly replacing all the batteries in all 8 of our cameras with rechargeables for a huge cost savings! We love these cameras so much that we just recently purchased their newest 8k model! We have only had it a couple weeks so we are not ready to review that camera just yet. You cannot go wrong with these cameras with the correct settings and good rechargeable batteries! Can't wait for these to go on sale again as we would like to get 3 more to expand our yard coverage! ******************* I bought 3 of these cameras on Amazon Prime Day for a good price. We installed them in the backyard and then a major storm came through. One camera was blown over and rained in all day and a 2nd camera stayed up but heavy rains. I was concerned that the camera that was blown over was now destroyed. I brought it in the house and let it air out. I even put it in a bowl of rice and all hope seemed to be lost but before I contacted customer support, I decided to give it another go and miraculously it came back to life and has been functioning ever since! Yay me! The other one that got a bunch of water in it, I let it air out for about two days and it also came back to life. If you are going to install these in an open area with no cover, I suggest securing securely and then putting a cover over the top of the camera to keep the rain out. We have our cameras set on 48mp photos with 3 photo bursts and 1 minute 4k video. We are burning through batteries pretty quick at these settings but we LOVE the videos. We have a lot of activity in our yard at night so we get a LOT of videos hence excessive battery burn. The quality is so much better than our 24mp stealh cams that only take 20 second graining videos and so so photos at night. These cameras take fantastic photos both day and night and the video quality is fantastic! The sound can use some work but I have found sound to be an issue with most trail cams so I am not complaining here. I highly recommend this camera for a low cost option and hope we can continue to enjoy them with the rechargeable batteries! I have decided that my next trail cam will be solar and I also ordered some rechargeable Li-Ion batteries to try in these to see if that helps reduce our battery consumption. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these cameras, I just don't like spending so much money on batteries at the higher resolution settings. Hopefully the rechargeables will help with that :-)

Never managed to get it to work
I bought it to attach to a bridge and monitor a creek on our property for interesting wildlife downstream of it. In the intiial setup I had to format the memory card that came with the camera as the camera said it was incompatible. After that I confirmed the camera works okay and image looked fine. Three times since then I've added batteries, formated the card, tested a couple of recordings and mounted it in the spot I want covered. Every time when I come back a month or two later the 8 batteries in the camera are dead. I load new batteries. The camera comes on and tells me the memory card is an incompatible format. I've tried loading the card into the provided usb drive adaptor and reading it on my computer. It also says it's incompatible. That leaves me no choice but to format the card and try again. I know it records to the card when I first set it up because I can view and replay the recordings on the camera. But somehow it resets itself and stops working before I can see any video or images when it's out on the actual trail I want it to record. I assume because the batteries are always dead that it is recording something. Also I've mounted it to the bridge post no more than 6 times and one of the mesh strap legs is already almost broken through on the camera enclosure. So doesn't seem very well built. Since I've wasted over 6 months on this I'm throwing away and trying something else.

Do you really want to know what's going "bump" in the night?
I have three of these in the canyon behind my house, two of which have been in constant use for 9 months. Cameras are easy to set up and use. They have captured everything from hail and rising flood water to mule deer and even large dragonflys. They have delivered videos day and night in sub-freezing to over 100 degree temps and stayed water-tight in a rain event that dropped over 2 inches of rain in two hours. I have three other brands of trail cameras that I purchased prior to these and they will stay as "back-up" cameras. Will definitely purchase again.....the only reason only 4 stars was given is the change in switch location and smaller type size for the meta-data in the video.

Very satisfied
This trail camera is everything I wanted. There is a large green space behind our house and we have a water tub there which attracts animals. Most captures have the animals at 1 - 2 meters. I've attached a night time picture and a daytime video from the camera. The picture is just before dawn so the sky is brighter than it would be. The date was set wrong (my fault) in the camera, so I cut off the bar at the bottom. I'm using the highest resolution for still images (6656x3744). The quality is very good for the price of the unit. The videos are (2560x1440) and the quality is very good for the price of the unit. Daytime images are better than night time, as would be expected. For night time, the sensitivity of the camera is surprisingly good. With city lighting of the sky at midnight, the outline of trees can be clearly seen against the sky. The IR lighting in the camera is quite bright. If there was any request I would make it would be that the camera would turn down the IR brightness when the animal is very close. Otherwise it can be whited out. I haven't had a chance to run the batteries down yet. I notice in the videos, which include the battery indicator, that it drops a little during the recording, which you would expect. Right now I'm guessing the 8 AA cells will last 3 to 4 weeks with 24 hour monitoring. I can run AC out to the unit, so I may power it from that later on. I've been pulling the captures off the camera every day which is very easy. The provided cable plugs into the unit and into a computer's USB port and the unit acts like a flash drive. Everything I've seen about the unit says "quality" and "thoughtful design"

Not bad
Simple and straight forward design and function. Great waterproof mech (we had several storms come through the area, and these cams survived; granted vegetation cover helped provide more protection). No need for wifi connection, which is a huge plus since I needed these away from the residence. For what it's worth, pretty nifty. The only few gripes I had about this product was how the second batch I bought of these cams, they got lost in the delivery process. Furthermore, the SD cards get corrupted (even when I switched them out for quality Sd cards). HOWEVER, this was manageable through using a different player app (not Microsoft based). That helped us recover the corrupted footages.
