First try and I felt my body activate! Like adding oil to a car that desperately needs it. I had to stay up the previous night before the shipment arrived perfectly as described. Having no sleep, I had more cups of coffee than usual as I had things to do with the fam. Around 5pm Ajoblanco arrived and I proceeded to make the tea. It has an umami, Soy-esque brothy taste to it, yet, light. Regardless, within minutes I felt a full on power, invigorating life overall balanced in the fast lane 10mph over the speed limit FOCUSED. Wife noticed immediately. I think all the coffee I had that day trying to stay awake had something to do with it. So there are a few ways to test your shilajit, for authenticity, and quality. First, you can send some off to a lab and wait for the results, or you can do some deductive reasoning with these couple of attributes: First, it should STINK. I am not talking about a slightly odorous whisper of a smell, I mean, your nose should almost crinkle from the unpleasant heavy pungency, of course, there's a spectrum, but in all cases, the worse it smells, NOT nausea inducing, just, heavy thick ugh, the BETTER the quality, leaning far closer to the authentic Shilajit than this one does. [So, this failed that test, what now? ] Well, Shilajit should also NEVER combust into flames. It will BUBBLE, EXPAND, and CRACKLE, but the flame should NEVER be fed off the shilajit. If it does, it has some sort of flammable product added, or mix, or purified with. [ This one caught on fire. ] Next, if you need further confirmation, although the fire test is really all you should need, but if you take a large scoop, say 3x the amount they advise to take, and put it in water, after a little while, it should be mostly dissolved. There shouldn't be any oily swirls in the water, the color should be a nice amber (although stinky) tea looking solution. This one failed that test too. There's better out there, and not just more expensive. Lotus Blooming Herbs is the best (so far at a reasonable price) although there are two more brands we have yet to test out. Happy Thinking!
